The Baseness of The New York Times and Anti-Japanese Media Using the Diamond Princess as a Pretext

Published on February 20, 2020.
This article criticizes The New York Times and certain Japanese media outlets for using the Diamond Princess incident as a pretext to attack Japan.
It points to the quarantine systems of cruise ships, the responsibility of the ship’s flag state and operating company, and the responsibility of China as the origin of the new pneumonia outbreak, arguing that Japan is a victim and has no reason to be blamed.

I even thought that this was almost like a colonial ship.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that, at least when it comes to the concept and complete system of quarantine, there was absolutely nothing.
When I was subscribing to the Asahi Shimbun, there was no way for me to know the true nature of The New York Times, and I vaguely thought of it as one of the world’s leading quality newspapers.
It was only after August six years ago that I learned that its true nature is that of one of the world’s leading anti-Japanese newspapers, and at the same time, a newspaper of the lowest level that willingly accepts Chinese and Korean anti-Japanese propaganda and criticizes Japan at every opportunity.
This time, it has used the Diamond Princess as a pretext to criticize Japan, and some media outlets where people steeped in masochistic historical views and anti-Japanese ideology exist are gleefully turning this into articles.
There was a person I encountered through work who had a reputation for more than half of what he said being lies.
Perhaps his wife came from a wealthy family, because he apparently had no financial worries.
He loved traveling on luxury cruise ships and boasted about it to everyone.
There may be good aspects to it, but I, thinking that I could not stand a life confined on a ship, listened to him as if it were water off a duck’s back.
Through this incident, I learned for the first time the reality of the crew members on cruise ships and was surprised.
That is because almost all of the crew members were Asians such as Filipinos.
I even thought that this was almost like a colonial ship.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that, at least when it comes to the concept and complete system of quarantine, there was absolutely nothing.
Taking this incident as an opportunity, each company that owns luxury cruise ships must adopt a complete concept and system of quarantine.
That is what the media should be saying.
The New York Times, if you want to complain about the Diamond Princess, say it to Britain, the flag state of the ship… naturally, Britain has not uttered a single shameless word condemning Japan over this matter… say it to Dubai Ports World, DPW, of Dubai, the current owner that acquired P&O.
Say it to China, one of the most unsanitary countries since ancient times, the country from which the new pneumonia originated.
Japan is a tremendous victim, and there is not the slightest reason for it to be criticized.
The baseness of the mass media people who are using this as an opportunity to repeat their criticism of the government and the baseness of The New York Times are the only things they have in common.
