NHK and Okinawa’s Two Newspapers Must Read This Book. The Crime of Not Reporting China’s Reality.
When reporting on Onaga, NHK fails to address China’s massive military buildup, incursions around the Senkaku Islands, and Japan’s frequent air scrambles. This essay argues that NHK staff, Okinawa’s two newspapers, and their readers must read Who Turned Asahi Shimbun into This? to recognize the gravity of their actions.
All NHK employees, the employees of Okinawa’s two newspapers, and all Okinawan residents who subscribe to those two newspapers must read this.

When NHK reports on Onaga, it must always report the staggering amounts China has been spending in recent years on military expansion, the frequency of territorial water and airspace violations around the Senkaku Islands, and the number of scramble launches by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
It should also properly report the fact that China has gone so far as to claim that Okinawa is not Japanese territory.
This is because the two newspapers that dominate Okinawa hardly report these facts at all.
A book that all NHK employees, the employees of Okinawa’s two newspapers, and all Okinawan residents who subscribe to those papers must read is Who Turned Asahi Shimbun into This?, co-authored by Hasegawa Hiroshi and Nagae Kiyoshi, WAC Bunko, 920 yen, first edition published on December 17, 2016.
For them in particular, this is required reading.
Moreover, it is an urgent task.
This is because I am convinced that it is the only way for them to become aware of the crimes they are committing.
