While NHK’s Watch 9 brought in Ian Bremmer and aired an anti-Trump line, Mr. Takita of TV Tokyo’s WBS reported on fake news spread by China using Italy as its stage. The video claiming that Italians sang the Chinese national anthem in gratitude to China was a complete fabrication.

The news footage showing residents of an Italian city leaning out from their balconies, expressing gratitude toward China and singing the Chinese national anthem, was a complete fabrication.
There should be few Japanese people who would object to the statement that NHK is, in substance, Japan’s state-run broadcasting station.
There should also be few Japanese people who would object to the statement that Watch 9, its news program, is one of NHK’s principal news programs.
At present, the world is being struck by the greatest catastrophe since the war.
Yet what is extremely strange about the response of Japanese reporting and some Japanese politicians is that they continue to maintain a see-no-evil, hear-no-evil, speak-no-evil posture toward the fact, obvious even to elementary school children, that this catastrophe originated from China’s Wuhan virus laboratory.
This is not only Japan’s problem.
For some reason, there are countless pro-China politicians and scholars throughout the world.
Yet when speaking about this catastrophe, the president of NHK gives a man like Arima a position like that of a judge, and through his arbitrary selection of people…whenever something happens, he brings out a young fellow called Ian Bremmer and others.
This Ian Bremmer is probably a supporter of the Democratic Party and one of the leading anti-Trump figures.
There must be many discerning people who remember that when Trump was elected, he had a look on his face as if the world had come to an end…and that he commented in response to NHK’s request.
I would like to say this to Maeda, who is now the president of NHK, but….
He too is probably one of the children of the Asahi Shimbun, raised while reading the Asahi Shimbun, so it would be meaningless.
Therefore, I want to say this to the Japanese people.
If NHK is, in substance, Japan’s state-run broadcasting station, then if it really wishes to have people speak about the future of the world, is it not its duty to connect at least the leaders of the G6 online for a conference, or to connect them individually, one by one, and interview them, and then report that to the Japanese people?
How long do they intend to allow such arbitrary conduct, in which a man like Arima, and then someone such as Ian Bremmer, are selected and made to speak?
Does NHK not always say that it is a public broadcaster?
If so, we must no longer allow the attempt to brainwash the Japanese people by having Arima, who is nothing more than an ordinary employee, arbitrarily appoint a single private citizen who is merely a supporter of the U.S. Democratic Party and one of the anti-Trump standard-bearers, and then have him speak at length such nonsense as “the individual over the nation,” the sort of foolishness that would delight the stupid political operators of the Constitutional Democratic Party.
If it is Japan’s state-run broadcasting station, then what it should do first is ask the prime ministers and presidents of the G6 in the manner described above.
…That is, only on the premise that it seeks opinions from others, from people of other countries.
For Arima and Ian Bremmer, who are absolutely nothing in themselves, to speak about the future of the world on a major news program of Japan’s state-run broadcasting station is an utterly abnormal state of affairs.
From the standpoint of the “public broadcaster” phrase they constantly use, it is something that must never be permitted.
It is a matter of elementary-school-level common sense that Macron, Merkel, Johnson, Shinzo Abe, Trudeau, and Trump should be asked first.
Worst of all, Arima and Bremmer have absolutely no perspective on the legitimacy of the Chinese Communist Party dictatorship, on how long that system will continue, or on whether it might possibly collapse within the next few years.
What was this Wuhan virus?
Why did it become such a catastrophe?
Above all, they have absolutely no perspective that China bears responsibility.
The fact that China itself is desperately spreading false propaganda in order to avoid being sued by the entire world for damages over its own tremendous error (though if it were them, they surely would do so), and the attitude of these two men, are two sides of the same coin.
Among those now appearing on television news programs as commentators, only Mr. Takita of TV Tokyo/WBS is truly decent.
It is probably because he is one of the very few people who have not fallen into China’s honey traps or South Korea’s money traps and honey traps.
He alone shows no deference toward China.
Last night, Mr. Takita aired two examples, saying that China’s lies are beginning to become an issue in Europe and America.
The first video was something I had never seen before.
When China dispatched a medical team to Italy, the news footage that China spread to the world was a fabrication.
The news footage showing residents of an Italian city leaning out from their balconies, expressing gratitude toward China and singing the Chinese national anthem, was a complete fabrication.
The second was the scoop by a Financial Times reporter that this column introduced on the very day it appeared in the Nikkei Shimbun…the outrageous propaganda sent by the Chinese Consul General in Michigan to the speaker of the Wisconsin state legislature.
Behind Arima’s bringing out Ian Bremmer and others and running into the outrageous arbitrary use of the public airwaves, there must have been pressing circumstances requiring the facts revealed by Nikkei’s Mr. Takita to be concealed for China’s sake.
Ian Bremmer is probably a man with the same circumstances as Arima.
Of course, tonight’s Watch 9 will not report at all the footage that WBS reported last night, and it has still not reported anything about the Wisconsin matter.
What it continues to report day after day is only reporting exactly in line with the guidance documents from China, that is, from CCTV located inside NHK’s headquarters and from the Chinese Embassy in Moto-Azabu, claiming that President Trump’s attacks on China over the Wuhan virus are motivated by calculations regarding the presidential election.
The fabricated Chinese video staged in an Italian city, which WBS reported last night, is the first such news I have seen reported in the newspapers I subscribe to or on the television programs I watch.

This video with sound reminded me of the video fabricated by South Korea at the time of the Korean military radar lock-on incident a few years ago.
