China will indeed launch a nuclear attack on Japan immediately and continue to launch atomic attacks until Japan unconditionally surrenders
The following is from “America Note,” a regular column by Yoshihisa Komori that appeared in yesterday’s Sankei Shimbun.
It is an article that proves that he is one of the few real journalists and a “national treasure,” as defined by Saicho.
For the past few days, I have been unusually watching the news programs of NHK and T.V. Tokyo.
They have not reported on this fact at all.
It is no exaggeration to say that they have no qualifications whatsoever as news organizations.
A Chinese military research group has adopted a new strategy saying that China should immediately launch a nuclear attack on Japan if Japan intervenes in the Taiwan crisis.
Even though this is not an official statement by the Chinese government, the U.S. side has reacted with renewed vigilance toward China.
On July 11, the Chinese private military research channel “Six Military Strategies” posted a video titled “Leveling Japan with a Nuclear Attack” on its extensive public website “Xigua Video.
The video, which is about six minutes long, states that Japanese government leaders and the Ministry of Defense have begun to talk about Japan’s involvement in Taiwanese contingencies and even participation in the war, and clearly states the strategy that if Japan were to intervene in any military contingency in Taiwan, “China will indeed launch a nuclear attack on Japan immediately and continue to launch atomic attacks until Japan unconditionally surrenders.
In the words of a female commentator, the video stated as background, “In Japan, the spread of the far-right anti-China line and neo-militarism promoted by former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and continued by Prime Minister Yoshihide Kan has solidified the national basis for advocating war against China,” and declared that in the event of a nuclear attack, the Senkaku Islands and Okinawa would be retaken.
The video began with a large image of Prime Minister Suga. It showed vital figures in the Japanese government, including Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Taro Aso, as well as scenes of the Self-Defense Forces in action, China’s nuclear explosions and nuclear missile launches, and the remains of Japan’s atomic bomb damage.
However, since declaring its intention to retain nuclear weapons in 1964, the Chinese government has announced a policy of “no first use” to not use nuclear weapons in the first instance in a war.
Therefore, it will not launch a nuclear attack on a non-nuclear country either.
In this regard, the Six Military Strategy stated that Japan is an exception because Japan has invaded China twice and still intends to attack.
The video is said to have received about 2 million hits in two days.
Even if this theory of a nuclear attack on Japan is not the policy of the Chinese authorities, under the Communist Party dictatorship, the authorities monitor and control any communication to the public, even from organizations that are considered private.
It could say that this is a nuclear threat to Japan implicitly approved by the regime.
The release of this video was reported in detail by many U.S. media outlets.
In the event of a nuclear threat or attack on Japan, the U.S. ally has pledged extended nuclear deterrence, in other words, a readiness to deter or retaliate under the nuclear umbrella.
That’s why this video immediately caught the attention of China scholars in the U.S.
Robert Sutter, an expert on China’s foreign strategy, said, “China’s nuclear attack on Japan would mean all-out nuclear war with the United States, so it would not be as easy to move as this video suggests, but Japan should be more than concerned about this trend in China.
Toshi Yoshihara, an expert on Chinese military trends, said, “The Chinese government is stirring up this kind of national sentiment of foreign hatred. In particular, the hostility and hatred toward Japan are intense even among the policymakers. The U.S.-Japan alliance should be aware of the danger that this false worldview could lead the Chinese government to make significant strategic errors.
The Biden administration also recently had a State Department spokesman express concern about China’s growing nuclear capability and changing nuclear strategy so that this video could be seen as a new dark cloud in US-China relations.
It is evident that Japan is the leading party to this.
