Everything Begins with One Person — Hiroko Onishi and the Chain of Anti-Japan Propaganda
Hiroko Onishi, former Tokyo bureau chief of The New York Times, played a central role in disseminating anti-Japan propaganda in coordination with the Asahi Shimbun.
Tracing her career reveals a chain of international actions, including San Francisco’s handling of the comfort women issue, that damaged Japan’s honor and historical credibility.
This article exposes how the actions of one individual and one newspaper obstructed the progress of the turntable of civilization.
The name Hiroko Onishi, who appeared in the previous chapter, is one I learned when I was researching South Korea.

I believe it was Masayuki Takayama who told me about her.
He told me that The New York Times maintains its Tokyo bureau inside the Asahi Shimbun building.
He also told me that Onishi, as Tokyo bureau chief, published anti-Japan propaganda in The New York Times.
Was she following Asahi’s editorials.
Or was she manipulating Asahi’s editorial writers.
I checked this person on Wikipedia and was even more astonished when I saw her career history.
In 2003, she succeeded Howard French as Tokyo bureau chief of the paper.
In February 2009, she swapped the Tokyo bureau chief post with Martin Fackler, moved to Jakarta as Southeast Asia bureau chief, and from April 2012 became San Francisco bureau chief.
It is this period beginning in 2012, when she served as San Francisco bureau chief, that matters.
Who could say there is no connection between her presence and the unbelievable actions taken by the San Francisco City Council regarding the comfort women issue.
I was the first person in the world to appear writing the phrase “everything begins with one person.”
This Onishi and the Asahi Shimbun—this one person and this one company—have committed unforgivable acts against the honor and credibility of the Japanese people, past, present, and future, against Japan’s history and philosophy, against Japan’s traditions and culture, which can be said without exaggeration to be the finest in the world.
They have obstructed the progress of the turntable of civilization and created the unstable and extremely dangerous world we face today.
They assume they will face no punishment under the laws of the living world and continue their wrongdoing even now.
But Onishi, and Asahi Shimbun, never forget this.
You will never pass through the gates of heaven.
King Enma is waiting for you in hell to impose the maximum torment befitting your crimes.
