March 15, 2011.
Learning from NHK that one major reason the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident worsened was that emergency fuel oil tanks had been swept away by the tsunami, the author expresses deep anger.
He argues that if this fact had been communicated earlier, the public would have been spared unnecessary fear and mistrust, and even secondary disasters such as the stock market collapse might not have been amplified so severely.
This is a same-day record of outrage over information concealment, political responsibility, and market turmoil in the wake of the earthquake and nuclear crisis.

Just now, NHK reported that the cause was that the emergency fuel oil tanks and the like had been swept away by the tsunami….
March 15, 2011
If that was the case, then all the more reason that, while that fool was wasting time on what he called an inspection, they should have been running around arranging for those things.
If the necessary equipment could not be gathered from all over Japan, then they should instantly have requested procurement from the United States or from any other country that possessed items capable of responding.
And moreover, a nuclear expert who dealt with Chernobyl and built the massive sarcophagus that covered it completely was saying that this accident is entirely different from Chernobyl….
This time, the earthquake came, and the reactor shut down automatically, just as designed….
Chernobyl was an accident in which nuclear fission kept progressing while the reactor was in operation.….
This time, the fuel oil tanks and the like were swept away by the tsunami, and they are struggling to lower the temperature, that is the nature of this accident….
It is completely different from Chernobyl….
A sarcophagus will not be necessary either.
I will never forget that all those who created such an executive leadership are responsible for the secondary disasters after the earthquake… the massive collapse in stock prices being the greatest of them….
And furthermore, I myself did not know until this very moment that the fuel oil tanks and the like had been swept away by the tsunami.
If everyone had known that, I think they would not have felt such unnecessary anxiety or distrust.
Who was it that had this information concealed until today?
If the facts had simply been conveyed as facts, would everyone not have understood?
If that had been done, we could have said, and felt, do your best.
Who, on the contrary, only increased unnecessary and pointless anxiety?
Who carried out such a ridiculous concealment?
With an earthquake that comes only once in a thousand years, it would be natural enough for tanks to be swept away, and there is no fool who would blame them for that.
In the end, it would not have led to such stupidity as reducing the market capitalization of companies listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 51 trillion yen in just two days.
I think that doing such things, and bringing about such results, is precisely what mere foot soldiers do.
Those responsible for this worthless concealment of information should bear responsibility for more than half of that 51 trillion yen.
