NHK Watch 9’s Manipulative Reporting: The Ugliness of Belittling Japan and Making Opposition Politicians Look Decent

This article criticizes the manipulative reporting of NHK’s news program Watch 9.
It examines how NHK downplayed the major fact that Japan’s government had already provided more than two trillion yen in sustainability benefits to 1.5 million applicants, while endlessly broadcasting one individual case to steer viewers toward criticism of the government.

Reporting that makes it seem as if Japan, the greatest country in the world, is a hopeless country full of problems, while the only decent people are NHK announcers and opposition-party politicians such as those in the Constitutional Democratic Party.
What is worst about NHK’s news programs, especially Watch 9?
It is that this program continues to report as if Japan, the greatest country in the world, were a hopeless country full of problems, while the decent people were NHK announcers and opposition-party politicians such as those in the Constitutional Democratic Party.
For several days, I had finally begun to stop watching it, and on June 12, even just watching the beginning showed that this was exactly the case.
In response to the Wuhan virus, Japan prepared the world’s largest budget.
The amount is unprecedented.
Nevertheless, NHK does not convey the greatness of this at all.
What it conveys, as usual, is the story of “one person suffering hardship, and that is because the government’s response is bad,” and it brings out one man who runs a yakitori restaurant.
In reality, this man had defects in his application documents.
Needless to say, there are countless applicants.
I felt sick and changed the channel.
There is no human being more despicable and malicious than Mayuko Wakuda.
The fact that she is said to be a graduate of the University of Tokyo proves that there is truly something utterly rotten in that university.
Viewers must realize that what the people who control NHK’s news division are doing, especially on Watch 9, is nothing other than impression manipulation.
Their ugliness not only makes me sick; watching something like Watch 9 is exactly like watching a kindergarten-level school performance.
But it is also biased reporting by extremely malicious and陰湿 anti-Japanese people.
Watching such a thing is bad for one’s mental health as well, so from last night, I finally stopped watching it.
About the impression manipulation that Watch 9 carried out last Friday.
They barely reported the following facts, and instead endlessly broadcast one yakitori restaurant owner, claiming that payment had still not been made, although in reality there were defects in his application documents.
As all people of keen insight know, this is the usual method of Arima of NHK, and especially of Watch 9.
They endlessly bring on one person who will say exactly what fits their distorted intentions, and use him to conduct anti-authority and anti-Trump reporting.
The organization doing such a thing is Japan’s national broadcaster.
Moreover, to use the phrase they like, they continue doing it by using the public airwaves.
The following are the facts, taken from the Prime Minister’s answers at the House of Councillors Audit Committee, as reported in today’s Sankei Shimbun.
The preceding part is omitted.
The Prime Minister referred to the fact that Japan has been able to suppress the spread of infection despite not having coercive measures like those in Europe and the United States, and said, “What is most necessary now is to gradually raise the level of society and the economy while controlling the risk of infection.”
The Prime Minister also responded to criticism over the “sustainability benefit” program, which supports small and medium-sized businesses whose sales have sharply declined, regarding cases in which payments had been delayed despite applications being submitted in early May.
He explained, “It is true that there were issues and problems with the applicants’ documents. It is not the case that everything was a fault on the part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.”
He asked for understanding, saying that payments had already been made in 1.5 million cases, totaling two trillion yen.
The following part is omitted.
The Arimas of Watch 9 seem to possess brains below the level of elementary school students, unable to understand the greatness of 1.5 million cases and two trillion yen, but they barely reported the greatness of this fact or the enormous scale of the amount, and instead reported as if there were some fault on the part of the government.
Even though there is no way that people such as Arima, who control NHK’s news division, could ever carry out the work of paying more than two trillion yen to 1.5 million cases in such a short period of time.
There is no impression-manipulating reporting more malicious than this.
It is a well-known fact that they report even the misconduct of individual lawmakers belonging to a party, or mere personal misconduct, as if the Prime Minister bore full responsibility for everything.
If that is so, then the full responsibility for NHK lies with its president, and on this point too, something suddenly occurred to me.
It was when Arima and Kuwako were hosting Watch 9, after Maeda, who had held an important post at Mizuho Bank, became president of NHK.
There was a time when Arima, with the biggest possible smile, turned to Kuwako and said, “Mr. Son…”
All decent citizens must have noticed that toward Prime Minister Abe, who is now the world’s greatest politician and whom it is no exaggeration at all to call one of the greatest politicians in history, Arima can only make, and does make, a face as if he were looking at the murderer of his parents.
Mizuho Bank is a bank that has become deeply committed to Masayoshi Son, a man whom it would be no exaggeration at all to call a speculator, and has extended an enormous amount of loans to him.
On this matter, I will introduce and explain in detail from the next chapter onward, drawing from “The Coronavirus Great Depression: The World Excludes China” by Masahiro Miyazaki and Tetsuya Watanabe, published on May 1.
When Masayoshi Son’s business methods collapse, the bank that will suffer enormous damage is Mizuho Bank.
Masayoshi Son’s lifeline is China.
In other words, at NHK, the intentions of the top and the subordinates, namely those belonging to NHK’s news division, coincide.
That is why its reporting has become so unbelievably ugly.
