“Unbelievably, the Prime Minister’s Office has gone out of its way to translate Kishida’s ‘Japan is a discriminatory nation’ message into English and broadcast it to the world. Delete it immediately, and the Prime Minister and all senior officials in his office must resign,” says Yoichi Shimada.
Although Japan has relatively little discrimination and is among the world’s most tolerant nations, a prime minister and bureaucrats raised in—and steeped in—a self-denigrating view of history have done this.
Truly a “second Kono Statement.”
