Sept 8, 2025 — Sharing the Beauty of Osaka & Kansai from the Grand Roof Ring (Non-Profit Project)
2025/9/8は、決して、最高の快晴＝撮影日和ではなかったのだが、二つの点で、撮影し直したいと考えていたから、酷暑の中、4時前に入場し大屋根リングに上って撮影を開始した。
一つのポイントは、大阪の美しさを世界に伝えたい点にあった。
先年、メジャーリーグのオールスターチームが来日、日米野球が開催された時、大阪ドーム球場が大阪での開催場所だった。
大阪に入って球場に向かう車中から、メジャーリーガーたちが感嘆の声を上げた。
「世界有数の大都会なのに、街が奇麗な事に驚いた。ごみ一つ見当たらない…」
今日、私は、万博の向こうに見える関西の街並みの美しさを撮影に行ったのである。
1.25億人の中で、そんな視点から、万博2025を撮影しようと考える人間は一人もいないと断言しても良い。
私は、伊達に「今を生きる空海、信長」と、時に言い、「文明のターンテーブル」を引っ提げて、2011/7/16に、オンラインに登場したのではないのである。
音楽は、シベリウス：交響曲第5番 第3楽章（白鳥の旋律）とベートーヴェン：交響曲第7番 第2楽章を採用しました。

On September 8, 2025, it was by no means the perfect clear sky—a photographer’s ideal day. Yet for two reasons, I wished to reshoot. Despite the scorching heat, I entered before four o’clock, ascended the Grand Roof Ring, and began photographing.
One purpose was to convey the beauty of Osaka to the world.
When the Major League All-Star team visited Japan for the Japan-U.S. baseball series some years ago, the Osaka Dome was chosen as the venue in Osaka.
As they rode into the city toward the stadium, the Major Leaguers voiced their astonishment: “It is incredible—one of the world’s great metropolises, and yet so clean. Not a single piece of trash in sight…”
Today, I went to capture the beauty of Kansai’s cityscape stretching beyond the Expo grounds.
Out of 125 million people, I can declare with certainty that not a single other person attempts to photograph Expo 2025 from such a perspective.
It is not for nothing that I am sometimes called “the Kūkai or Nobunaga living in the present day,” nor that I appeared online on July 16, 2011, bearing the banner of The Turntable of Civilization.
For the music, I have chosen Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5, third movement (the Swan Theme), and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, second movement.

A solitary, devoted amateur photographer collaborates across time with geniuses of the classical music world, to further convey their magnificence to the world and to preserve Japan’s supreme beauty for future generations.
