Standing Ovation as a Litmus Test of Media Depravity

This essay exposes the abnormality of Japan’s opposition parties and the Asahi Shimbun condemning a parliamentary standing ovation as “totalitarian,”despite its commonplace acceptance in the West.By contrasting Shinzo Abe’s U.S.Congress speech, the Senkaku situation, and gratitude toward the Japan Coast Guard and Self-Defense Forces,it reveals a structural moral corruption unique to the Asahi Shimbun.

Standing ovations are a frequent sight in every conceivable setting in Europe and the United States.

Standing ovations are a frequent sight in every conceivable setting in Europe and the United States. At the same time, many Japanese have long believed that this custom expresses one of the positive qualities of Western societies. Therefore,in recent years,Japanese people have also begun to perform standing ovations in various places, just as in the West.
When Prime Minister Shinzo Abe delivered a speech before the U.S.Congress,and was met with standing ovations many times, there must have been many Japanese who felt an even greater sense of goodwill toward the United States.
As all Japanese citizens are aware of China’s activities around the Senkaku Islands, anyone who checks the Japan Coast Guard’s website at http://www.kaiho.mlit.go.jp/mission/senkaku/senkaku.html can immediately see that the number of incidents has increased abnormally since 2012.
According to a report by the Sankei Shimbun dated 2016.10.14,the scrambling of Self-Defense Force aircraft reached a record high, with 594 scrambles in the first half of the fiscal year, including 407 involving rapidly increasing Chinese military aircraft.
Under these circumstances, when Prime Minister Abe stated in the Diet that he wished to express his gratitude to the Japan Coast Guard personnel and Self-Defense Force members who are fighting day and night, the ruling party lawmakers gave him a standing ovation.
In response, the Japanese opposition parties lodged a protest.
This must be an unimaginable reaction in Western countries.
The Asahi Shimbun has consistently denigrated Japan and the Japanese government under the pretense of “in the West,”beginning with laughable postures such as its insistence that Japan should learn from Germany, which undoubtedly served the interests of China and South Korea.
Kenzaburo Oe,a leading representative of the Asahi Shimbun’s sympathizers, declined the Order of Culture for political reasons, yet eagerly went to receive the Nobel Prize.Standing ovations are always given to Nobel Prize laureates as well.
Anyone with a sound mind who read this morning’s Asahi must have been astonished.First,on page three,in a large space,a man named Shinji Fukushima, under the title of editorial writer, not only criticized the Liberal Democratic Party by claiming that the parliamentary standing ovation was a form of totalitarianism, but on the following page four, also in a large space,a woman named Junko Takahashi, under the title of deputy political editor, launched an even more persistent attack invoking totalitarianism.
The Asahi Shimbun, which has never once criticized the outright Nazism and fascism of the anti-Japanese education continually practiced by South Korea and China, writes articles like this.
The Asahi Shimbun, which has never once placed an opinion advertisement in newspapers around the world admitting that its reporting on the so-called comfort women was wrong,in other words, which has never attempted to convey the truth to the international community, writes such articles.
That it is an abnormal newspaper company found nowhere else in the world should be immediately obvious to readers everywhere who possess sound minds.
Because there is no such newspaper anywhere else in the world.
