Resign from NHK and Enter Opposition Politics Immediately — The Bias of “News Watch 9” and the Reality of the Freedom Not to Report —
This essay compares NHK’s “News Watch 9” coverage of President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address with the polling results reported on BS1 International News. It criticizes what the author views as biased reporting and selective omission, questioning the neutrality of Japan’s publicly funded broadcaster and raising concerns about journalistic ethics and political positioning.

He should immediately resign from NHK and become an opposition politician in the Communist Party or the Constitutional Democratic Party.
However, the biased reporting of NHK’s News Watch 9 has reached a level that can no longer be dismissed as trivial. This is a chapter originally issued on January 31, 2018.
Passages marked between asterisks were added today.
However, the biased reporting of NHK’s News Watch 9 has reached a level that can no longer be dismissed as trivial.
While watching the total lunar eclipse, I was watching News Watch 9, and after it ended, I switched to BS1’s International News, which happened to be reporting on President Trump’s State of the Union Address.
As viewers of News Watch 9 know, the program reported that Democrats and voters opposed President Trump’s speech by featuring, in what looked like a sports bar, a man in his thirties who appeared to be a Democratic supporter openly ridiculing and belittling the President.
Last year, in order to guide public opinion, they went to Toyo University and had a very small seminar group of students present conclusions aligned with the distorted ideology of those who dominate News Watch 9, whom I have repeatedly stated I am convinced are cells of China or the Korean Peninsula, using childish, simplistic, and underhanded methods. On January 7, under the pretext of a morning activity gathering for young people, they assembled about six men and women raised under the relaxed education system and broadcast an outrageous report asserting that the relaxed education policy advocated by a man named Terawaki Ken, who may best be described as a puppet of opposition politicians or television networks, had been correct and that it was the Ministry of Education that was wrong to halt it.
Those watching News Watch 9 must have concluded that opposition to President Trump was considerable and that he was rejected by many Americans.
However.
International News properly reported the results of U.S. public opinion polls regarding the State of the Union Address.
Astonishingly, in complete contrast to News Watch 9, more than 72 percent of Americans supported the speech across all categories.
Those who control News Watch 9 broadcast their own views using the childish, simplistic, and underhanded methods described above, which disqualify them as journalists, yet when faced with matters that do not align with their views or ideology, which in reality is nothing more than a distorted ideology, they blatantly wield the “freedom not to report.”
Although it is effectively a state broadcaster sustained by the taxes of the Japanese people, they never call themselves such and instead adopt the ambiguous label of “public broadcasting.”
They are, for Japan and the Japanese people, the most dangerous parasites within the body.
Today I reached a definitive conclusion.
Arima, while you receive one of Japan’s highest salaries as an NHK employee, effectively paid from the taxes of the Japanese people, if you truly wish to oppose Japan and the prime minister and president of its most important ally, then you should immediately resign from NHK and become an opposition politician in the Communist Party or the Constitutional Democratic Party.
