The supreme resonance of the violin and the beauty of Kanazawa’s gardens and historic architecture quietly resonate with one another.
This film is a photographic work created from images taken in Kanazawa, Japan, on May 2 and May 3, 2025.
On May 2, the photographs capture Kenrokuen Garden in the rain, revealing the quiet elegance and deep atmosphere of one of Japan’s most celebrated gardens.
On May 3, under a clear blue sky, the film shows Kanazawa Castle and Oyama Shrine, along with the architecture of Kanazawa Station and the Kanazawa Ongakudo Concert Hall.
The contrast between the rain-soaked serenity of Kenrokuen and the bright clarity of Kanazawa Castle and Oyama Shrine forms the visual structure of this cinematic photographic poem.
The background music features a recital performance by the “violinist of the century” who has emerged from Japan, Murata Natsuho, recorded in Rome on November 22, 2025.
The piece performed is “Melancholy Serenade.”
