Kyoto’s Cherry Blossoms of March 29, 2022, Offered to the World with Schumann’s “Spring” — Daigo-ji, Keage, Okazaki, Kiyamachi, and Yuna Shinohara
March 29, 2022.
I photographed the cherry blossoms at Daigo-ji, Keage, Okazaki, and Kiyamachi.
I offer the blossoms of that day to readers around the world, together with the second movement of Schumann’s Symphony No. 1.
March 28, 2026.
I went to the Main Hall of the Toyonaka Performing Arts Center, where the Japan Century Symphony Orchestra’s Toyonaka Masterpiece Series Vol. 37, “Flowers,” was held.
The conductor was Erika Kiko.
The violinist was Yuna Shinohara.
Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons was performed without a conductor.
This was followed by Delius’s Two Pieces for Small Orchestra.
And then came Schumann’s Symphony No. 1 in B-flat major, Op. 38, “Spring.”
It would not be the slightest exaggeration to call the entire concert a historic masterpiece of performance.
Above all, I was deeply struck by Yuna Shinohara.
About this, I shall write at a later date in The Turntable of Civilization.
