In 2022, I was using a SONY α99 and shooting in ARW.
On April 30, I was supposed to go and photograph Nara’s wisteria, as I do every year.
But as I sort through the images now, I can only marvel at myself.
The moment I got off at the usual bus stop in front of Nara Park, a Blue Triangle butterfly appeared at my feet.
And so that day ceased to be a day of wisteria and became a day of butterflies.
After all, even while walking through Manyōen’s wisteria garden, I was photographing butterflies above all else.
At that time, I was especially drawn to butterflies.
This is a work that those who love butterflies will understand.
