Published on July 18, 2019.
This article organizes the production staff and content of NHK’s Constitution-related programs, including “The Self-Defense Forces and the Constitution: Japan-U.S. Confrontations,” “The Japanese People and the Symbolic Emperor,” “Seventy Years of the Constitution: How the Peace State Was Born,” “Seventy Years of the Constitution of Japan,” and “The Constitution and the Japanese People.”
It particularly criticizes “Seventy Years of the Constitution of Japan” for its simplistic framing of constitutional revisionists as Nippon Kaigi and defenders of the Constitution as SEALDs, and describes “The Constitution and the Japanese People” as an overt pro-Constitution brainwashing program.
