Nakanoshima Rose Garden Part II――Fresh Roses with “Dance of the Hours”

Part II of the roses shot today at Nakanoshima Rose Garden in Osaka. The music is Ponchielli’s “Dance of the Hours” from La Gioconda, conducted by Herbert von Karajan with the Philharmonia Orchestra, forming a video poem of early summer in Osaka.

Today, May 5, freshly shot scenes from Nakanoshima Rose Garden.
This is the second work.
Nakanoshima before noon was more crowded than I had ever seen it before.
Even beside Osaka City Hall, there were already tremendous crowds.
Food stalls were lined up as well.
It has been about ten years since I first became aware of Nakanoshima Rose Garden.
It was a first-time experience for me.
Early-summer light filled the riverside.
The roses were truly at their best.
The energy of the crowds, the liveliness of the stalls, and the brightness of the waterfront all came together.
The music used for this second work is Ponchielli’s “Dance of the Hours” from the opera La Gioconda.
Conducted by Herbert von Karajan.
Philharmonia Orchestra.
In what I had previously posted, there was an error in the name of the orchestra.
“Polovtsian Dances” is conducted by Karajan with the Berlin Philharmonic.
On the other hand, this “Dance of the Hours” is conducted by Karajan with the Philharmonia Orchestra.
I correct that point accurately here.
“Dance of the Hours” truly suits today’s Nakanoshima Rose Garden.
After all, festive music was echoing through the area.

The colors of the roses.
The light along the river.
The bustle of the food stalls.
The energy of the crowds.
And the midday scene of Osaka’s Nakanoshima, where time itself seemed to dance.
I preserved it as the second video poem of the day.
