The “Tsujimoto Ready-Mixed Concrete Suspicion” and the Constitutional Democratic Party: Why Does NHK Appear to Defend Kiyomi Tsujimoto?
Published on September 12, 2019.
This article discusses reports surrounding the arrest of Kenichi Take, chairman of the Kansai Ready-Mixed Concrete Branch of the All Japan Construction, Transport and General Workers’ Union, focusing on the alleged connection with House of Representatives member Kiyomi Tsujimoto, the Weekly Asahi report, and NHK Political Magazine’s unnatural reaction.
It critically examines the ready-mixed concrete suspicion involving the Constitutional Democratic Party, political funds, media bias, and NHK’s stance.

On the other hand, what is even more unnatural is NHK’s reaction.
The following is also a continuation of the article mentioned earlier.

The “Tsujimoto Ready-Mixed Concrete Suspicion” and the Constitutional Democratic Party, a Treasure House of Human Liabilities with Hopelessly Poor Intelligence.
Ready-mixed concrete, sexual harassment, affairs, and corruption.
Around the Constitutional Democratic Party, the largest opposition party in the House of Representatives, various scandals are emerging on the Internet day after day.
Former Prime Minister Naoto Kan seems to have said about this that “it is a misunderstanding that the Constitutional Democratic Party appears arrogant,” but the Constitutional Democratic Party is not particularly “arrogant.”
I think it is simply a “treasure house of human liabilities with hopelessly poor intelligence.”

Summary of the Ready-Mixed Concrete Suspicion at Present.
Arrest of Suspect Kenichi Take of Rentai.
Because I was on a business trip to a certain region last weekend, I am in a situation where I cannot fully follow the important news that came out over the weekend, but I will take up this report that appeared almost a week ago.
Many readers of this website may already know this, but on the 28th of last month, Kenichi Take, executive chairman of the Kansai Ready-Mixed Concrete Branch of the All Japan Construction, Transport and General Workers’ Union, hereinafter “Rentai,” was arrested by Shiga Prefectural Police on suspicion of attempted extortion.

Sankei News, August 28, 2018, 11:07.
Regarding this, since no judgment has yet been issued at this point on whether the suspect was involved in any attempted extortion case, I would like to refrain from judging whether he is guilty or innocent.
However, according to Kansai TV, the suspect reportedly inflicted on business operators “harassment that would normally be unthinkable.”
“Don of the Ready-Mixed Concrete Industry” Arrested: Harassment by About 100 People Shouting Strange Cries in Front of His Home Early on New Year’s Day; May Have Collected Nearly 10 Billion Yen.
Yahoo! News, distributed by Kansai TV, August 28, 2018, 19:54.
According to Kansai TV, information has been introduced that, through a method in which, “under instructions from suspect Take and others, they searched for illegal labor practices such as unpaid overtime, and as labor struggles, collectively interfered with companies and conducted street propaganda, demanding settlement money and the like,” they collected nearly 10 billion yen over several decades.
As examples of these methods, members of the Rentai Union would stand in front of vehicles transporting cement and obstruct shipments.
Shipments of ready-mixed concrete, which hardens within several hours, could also be obstructed, and in such cases, the hardened ready-mixed concrete would become unusable.
One business operator, saying that “in a large construction project, sales of 75 million yen per day, or 1.5 billion yen over 20 days, would be affected,” paid 120 million yen to the suspect.
Harassment in which about 100 people shouted strange cries and insults in front of his home at 7 a.m. on New Year’s Day continued for five years.
These methods were malicious, and if they are true, they closely resemble typical methods used by antisocial forces.
Connection with House of Representatives Member Kiyomi Tsujimoto.
By the way, if one searches on the Internet for “ready-mixed concrete and Kiyomi Tsujimoto,” a huge number of various pages appear.
“Kiyomi Tsujimoto” refers to Kiyomi Tsujimoto, a House of Representatives member of the Constitutional Democratic Party, but surprisingly, among the major media, it was the Asahi Shimbun-affiliated website AERA.dot that reported this.
A “Boomerang” for Representative Kiyomi Tsujimoto? Shock in Nagatacho over the Arrest of the “Don” of the Ready-Mixed Concrete Industry.
Weekly Asahi, August 31, 2018, 07:00.
I do not know why an Asahi Shimbun-affiliated website reported this, but to summarize the Weekly Asahi report, it is as follows.
In quoting it, I have modified the expressions as appropriate without changing the meaning.
Rentai suspect Kenichi Take is called the “don” of the ready-mixed concrete industry and has great influence in the political world as well.
According to people connected to Rentai, the suspect has backed opposition lawmakers who met with his approval, including Kiyomi Tsujimoto, with abundant funds.
According to the income and expenditure report of Tsujimoto’s political fund management organization, Rentai purchased 500,000 yen worth of party tickets in 1999, and in 2000 she received a total of 1 million yen in donations from two Rentai executives.
The suspect’s source of funds was thorough struggle, and he obtained abundant funds through thorough struggles such as “conducting street propaganda around the homes of company presidents who would not respond to collective bargaining” and “stopping mixer trucks near construction sites when someone tried to procure concrete from companies not affiliated with his union.”
The suspect was also arrested and indicted by Osaka Prefectural Police in 2005 on charges including attempted coercion and forcible obstruction of business.
These articles are also consistent with the Kansai TV report mentioned earlier.
That is not all.
Weekly Asahi, after stating that “there is suspicion that such funds also flowed into Nagatacho,” says: “Chairman Take comes to Nagatacho about once a year.
He brings about twenty union executives with him and makes the rounds at the Diet members’ offices of the lawmakers he supports.
They all stay at a high-class hotel, and at night there is a lavish drinking party with lawmakers and secretaries.
Lawmakers receiving support will cancel whatever business they have and come on the day Chairman Take arrives.
That is because they can obtain such generous support.”
Honestly, at this stage I do not really know the motive behind Weekly Asahi, part of the Asahi Shimbun Group, publishing an article that seemed to target Kiyomi Tsujimoto, an influential lawmaker of the Constitutional Democratic Party.
Tsujimoto Kiyomi’s office reportedly responded to Weekly Asahi’s inquiry about the suspect’s arrest as follows.
“We have no view.
There is no fact that we received donations from the person or organization you specified.
We do not know what the meal with Mr. Take refers to, so we cannot answer.”
However, if the Weekly Asahi report is true, funds were received from organizations connected to the suspect in 1999 and 2000, and somehow this does not make sense.
Is NHK Defending Kiyomi Tsujimoto?
On the other hand, what is even more unnatural is NHK’s reaction.
Yesterday, NHK released online information titled Political Magazine: “Kiyomi Tsujimoto’s Mother’s Special Love Curry,” Nagatacho and Kasumigaseki Salarymen’s Meals.
NHK Political Magazine: “Kiyomi Tsujimoto’s Mother’s Special Love Curry | Nagatacho and Kasumigaseki Salarymen’s Meals.”
NHK is doing everything it can to avoid touching on the ready-mixed concrete suspicion.
Perhaps it is just my imagination, but the curry looks like ready-mixed concrete.

Eating curry rice in an office in the Diet Members’ Building in Nagatacho is Kiyomi Tsujimoto of the Constitutional Democratic Party, age 58.
Actually, this is a special curry made by Tsujimoto’s mother, who lives in Osaka, and brought to her each week for one week’s worth.
It is always kept in the office refrigerator together with multigrain rice.

No matter how one thinks about it, it is unnatural to go out of one’s way to mention Tsujimoto at this timing.
As I myself tweeted, it cannot be helped if people suspect that NHK is doing everything it can to avoid touching on the ready-mixed concrete suspicion.
Please note that NHK tends to delete content from its website very quickly, so I think the linked images will also disappear soon.
