With Page France: Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai at Night
I created a work of just over 15 minutes from 134 photographs taken at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai at night.
The music is by Page France.
The songs appear in the following order:
Chariot
Junkyard
Jesus
Tomato Morning
The Ruby Ring Man
Emerging in the mid-2000s, around the same time as The Lovely Sparrows, Page France was one of the wonderful bands that made me strongly feel that I was hearing the sound of the 21st century.
At night, the Expo reveals a completely different world from the one seen during the day.
Illuminated pavilions.
Architecture emerging from the darkness.
Countless lights.
People moving through the grounds.
The night sky stretching over the vast site.
And beyond all the artificial light, the color of the real sky still remains.
I captured in 134 photographs the scenes that actually appeared before my eyes that night.
At night, the immense space of the Expo takes on an entirely different expression.
I have brought those photographs together with the music of Page France.
It begins with Chariot and ends with The Ruby Ring Man.
As the music plays, the 134 photographs cease to be merely a record of the Expo.
Architecture.
Light.
People.
The night sky.
And music.
What emerges is one night in the year 2025.
Just over 15 minutes.
This is Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai at night, traced together with the music of Page France.
