Now that the IMF is recommending that the consumption tax be raised to 15 percent during next year, politicians who love their country, wish to defend their country, and wish to enrich their country must unite now and make Japan the world’s greatest financial power.
For the mass media to call this an Imperial Rule Assistance Association or anything of that sort is completely beside the point.
What they themselves have done over these twenty years is precisely the equivalent of an Imperial Rule Assistance Association…They have merely intensified the extreme concentration of everything in Tokyo, concentrated information entirely in Tokyo, reduced every city outside Tokyo to the status of a second-rate city, and greatly aggravated mob rule and populism…
The foreigner who casually purchased a luxury condominium worth more than 400 million yen overlooking Ezo Fuji understood the magnificence of Japan’s regions better than our country’s mass media did…
Amid their worthless, incessant commotion, Japan lost hundreds of trillions of yen in precious national wealth—wealth built through sixty years of diligent labor following such devastating destruction—in only twenty years.
The sole purpose is to immediately make Japan the world’s greatest financial power, equal to the United States—with the world’s largest stock market—and a great power in total stock-market capitalization; to increase the nation’s wealth at once; to make deflation instantly vanish and disappear like mist; and to bring the declining birthrate and aging population to an end.
It would also ensure that no more young people emerge who waste their lives in places such as soccer stadiums.
The sole purpose is for Japan to continue prospering for another 170 years as the finest country in the world, possessing the highest intellect and freedom, and to use that prosperity to save the world.
No other purpose exists in the present age.
The only people who rejoice in political confusion are the mass media, which have now reached the ultimate extreme of feeble-mindedness.
All that remains is for those who come as close as possible to representing Japan’s finest intellects…those who are the most mature…to unite.
As for who has gone bad, mass media, it is probably you.
This is now the age of great economic competition.
“The war is over.”
Those for whom it has not ended, those who have not reformed, are probably you alone, the mass media.
You alone, secure in the comfort of guaranteed annual incomes exceeding ten million yen and continuing to behave like frivolous clowns making an endless commotion, are incapable of seeing the world.
Among those who call themselves politicians in the present age, the only sort who cannot see the world or the economy are probably the celebrity politicians whom you created and helped to elect.
If you think that is untrue, look at Osaka Mayor Hiramatsu.
No, there must be any number of them—the sort of people whom you have promoted.
Among politicians, there must surely be many people who have thought far more deeply than you imagine about the state of the world and Japan—in other words, the economy.
It would be fair to declare that the only exceptions are the celebrities you cultivated and the kinds of people you pampered and flattered.
On the opposite side from you, there must be a great many politicians who have continued thinking about what happened during these twenty years.
I have devoted most of these pages to demonstrating with facts that, throughout these twenty years, no one has been more directly responsible than you for ruining this country.
Politicians, you must make Japan a financial power immediately.
There is nothing else you must do as politicians.
Prosperity, wealth, and the freedom and highest intellect that arise from them—only these can save us from poverty, envy, jealousy, resentment, and killing one another.
They alone can save us from these forms of foolishness born of poverty.
The comedy programs still being produced by television with a mental age of twelve cannot possibly change the hardship that Japanese people are now experiencing in their lives.
On the contrary, they merely create the worst possible attitude: “Avoid resolving the problem and conceal it instead.”
