A Sudden Turn at Tenryū-ji: From a Bus Door to a Wagtail

As I was thinking about such things and arrived in front of Tenryū-ji, right before my eyes a bus bound for Daikaku-ji opened its doors.
In an instant, I changed my plans and jumped on, heading for Ōsawa Pond.
In my heart, I hoped it would be a blessing if I could meet a kingfisher, but there was not the slightest sign of one.
What appeared before our eyes instead was the Japanese wagtail shown below.
It was a cold day yesterday, and it greeted us looking very much as if it were cold.
