Asahi Shimbun as an Anomaly: Fabrication, Propaganda, and the Degradation of Japanese Media

An analysis of Asahi Shimbun’s long record of fabricated reporting, ideological bias, and coordinated attacks on Japanese administrations, unmatched anywhere else in the world.

A newspaper that relentlessly denigrates its own country, yet claims moral authority, is a phenomenon without parallel anywhere in the world.

The Asahi Shimbun should have been shut down solely on the basis of Masakazu Honda’s fabricated reporting in this single case alone.

The awfulness of Chihiro Kato is beyond description.
The Japanese people must know this.
Individuals like him, who speak gently and present themselves as refined gentlemen, are precisely the kind of targets sought by Chinese and Korean intelligence agencies.
After Kato came Kang Sang-jung, whom I have mentioned repeatedly.

All Japanese citizens, and people around the world, must understand how profoundly malicious this newspaper company is.

The fabricated reporting on so-called “comfort women.”
The massive “Journey to China” feature, which can only be described as pure Chinese Communist Party propaganda.
The fabricated interview used to attack Professor Shoichi Watanabe.
The unbelievable wrongdoing committed by the Asahi Shimbun is endless.

Despite this, such a newspaper still postures as a major daily and lectures the Japanese public.
Not only that.
Recently, in order to topple and weaken the Abe administration, it sensationalized the Moritomo Gakuen affair,
and when that ended in failure, it moved on to the Kake Gakuen issue.
This inflicted serious damage on the Liberal Democratic Party in the Tokyo metropolitan election.

This is a country where such a newspaper can continue to exist openly and repeatedly launch hysterical attacks on the government.
Japan’s level of press freedom is the highest in the world.

There is no other country on earth where a media outlet so dedicated to denigrating its own nation is regarded as a representative national newspaper.

Those who, while being paid with Japanese money at United Nations human rights bodies, devote themselves to attacking Japan, must read this chapter with their eyes wide open.

And they must never again say anything foolish about Japan.

As I have said repeatedly, if you have that much time, go and investigate China.
Go and investigate South Korea.

You blockhead.
