What Is the True Mission of an Economic Newspaper? Abandon Politics and Strengthen Japan’s Economy

Nikkei should abandon political commentary and devote itself entirely to strengthening Japan’s economy.
Building the Tokyo Stock Exchange into a global market on par with the NYSE is the essential mission of an economic newspaper and a prerequisite for Japan to lead the world alongside the United States for the next 170 years.

As readers already know, I still subscribe to both the Asahi Shimbun and the Nikkei.
I subscribe to the Nikkei in its capacity as an economic newspaper, but its political stance largely follows that of the Asahi.
I am convinced that the Nikkei should stop making political assertions.
Instead, it should devote that energy to strengthening Japan’s economy.
In other words, recognizing that Japan is a nation in which the “turntable of civilization” is turning as a matter of divine providence, and in order to lead the world alongside the United States for the next 170 years, the Nikkei must immediately marshal the collective wisdom of all its employees to build the Tokyo Stock Exchange into the world’s largest market, on par with the NYSE.
You probably consider yourselves members of Japan’s elite.
If so, all the more reason why you must begin this task immediately.
You must become the vanguard in building the Tokyo Stock Exchange into the world’s largest market alongside the NYSE.
Other than that, you have no value of existence.
If you cannot do so, you should stop calling yourselves an economic newspaper.
You would be better off declaring yourselves nothing more than a newspaper that runs errands for economic interests.
