NHK Newsroom Revealed: A Comment That Exposed the Reality of Its Editorial Direction
While rarely watching NHK, the author happened to view the 9 p.m. news and witnessed a comment describing President Trump as “destroying the postwar world order.” This statement, the author argues, exposes the ideological condition of NHK’s news division, which fails to recognize that the true disruptors of the postwar order are China, Russia, and North Korea. The author concludes that the Japanese government must seriously examine the loyalties and political beliefs of those controlling NHK’s newsroom and take decisive action without hesitation.
I normally never watch it, but just now I happened to be watching the NHK news starting at 9 p.m.
The male anchor who handles the weekday 7 p.m. news is the same, but the impression is that of a labor union member—nothing more than a union activist.
The comment made by the man sitting next to Hayashida revealed, in its entirety, the actual condition of NHK’s news department at present.
Astonishingly, he reported that “President Trump is destroying the postwar world order.”
It is obvious even to someone with the intellect of an elementary school student that it is China, Russia, and North Korea that are destroying the postwar world order.
Yet the people who control NHK’s news department are completely unable to grasp this fact.
The reason should be self-evident.
At this point, the Japanese government must examine the people who dominate NHK’s news department—whether they are genuinely Japanese, whether they possess patriotism, whether they have loyalty to the Japanese state, and what their political beliefs actually are.
However, given that the reality of their reporting already makes everything clear, the appropriate response the Japanese government should take is simply to follow President Trump’s example and say, “You are fired.”
This is one of the most urgent tasks that Japan must undertake right now.
