Unprecedented Public Surge Exposes a Crisis of Credibility at NHK

Within just a few minutes, social media view counts related to Japan’s political leadership surged by more than one million—an extraordinary phenomenon rarely seen, especially in political discourse. This article examines the stark gap between such overwhelming public reaction and NHK’s reported approval figures, raising fundamental questions about editorial credibility, public trust, and the responsibilities of a publicly funded broadcaster in a democratic society.
Has NHK’s News Division Lost Its Legitimacy as a Public Broadcaster?

It is difficult to avoid the conclusion that NHK’s news division has become thoroughly corrupted.
The government should conduct a comprehensive investigation into those who effectively control NHK’s news department.

Even TBS reported an approval rating of 78% for the administration of Sanae Takaichi.
Yet this morning, NHK’s news division presented a figure of only 62%.
Such a discrepancy cannot be dismissed as coincidence. It clearly reveals the direction in which NHK’s reporting is oriented.

To put it bluntly, the reality of public sentiment exists on an entirely different plane.
From a lived, intuitive perspective, many people sense that as much as 90% of the public supports Sanae Takaichi—that is, the Takaichi administration.

One compelling indicator of this reality can be found on social media.
In the fast-moving, real-time world of SNS, and particularly in the realm of politics, a view count of 15.92 million is virtually unprecedented.
Moreover, the figure continues to rise rapidly, increasing in increments of tens of thousands at a time.
By the time these lines are written, it may well have reached 15.93 million.

The government must heed the collective will of the Japanese people.
It must not tolerate the continued dominance of incompetent and contemptible individuals who effectively control NHK’s news division.

Even the caricature of Ms. Takaichi shown in this morning’s broadcast was appallingly disrespectful.
By contrast, Xi Jinping is consistently depicted with a smiling face and pandas—symbols of friendliness.
Can any viewer honestly fail to notice the disturbing imbalance in this portrayal?

NHK has become, in effect, indistinguishable from a Chinese state broadcaster.
An organization in such a condition has absolutely no moral right to demand a license fee from the public.

An Increase of 2.4 Million in Minutes — The Reality Revealed by an Unprecedented Public Response

I checked the numbers again just now, and to be honest, I was stunned.
The increase is not on the scale of tens of thousands. It is surging in units of millions.

Within only a few minutes,
the view count jumped sharply from 15.7 million to 18.1 million.

This is a level I have never seen before.
And it is happening in the realm of politics, on social media—where immediacy rules.
These figures can no longer be explained by words like “trending” or “going viral.”
This is nothing less than the eruption of public opinion itself.

There Is No Longer Any Room for Evasion

I want to say to those who effectively control NHK’s news division: have some shame.
But they will not—and cannot—feel shame.

That is because they are ensnared by
“bottomless evil” and “plausible falsehoods,”
people who have spent their lives refining nothing but the techniques for justifying their own actions.

With such people, reasoned argument and protest are meaningless.
There is only one thing left to say.

One must hurl these words at them in the thunderous voice of the Sengoku warlord, Oda Nobunaga:

“You’re all fired!”

To continue granting such corrupt figures—
in effect, with taxpayers’ money—the highest salaries in Japan
is nothing less than a national disgrace.

It is no different in essence from Japan’s long-standing habit of continuing to pour vast sums of money, without reflection, into the United Nations after it has degenerated into a thoroughly rotten organization.

This is, to the utmost degree,
a spectacle that is contemptible, grotesque, and a profound insult to the nation’s citizens.
