Kenzaburo Oe,one of the leading representatives of the Asahi Shimbun’s sympathizers,denied “My Beautiful Japan,”the Nobel Prize acceptance speech by Yasunari Kawabata,who had no need whatsoever to be tainted by pseudo-moralism like Oe’s.Those who grew up subscribing to and carefully reading the Asahi Shimbun,like Oe,have implanted in the Japanese people the notion that Japan is an unbeautiful country,an ugly country,a country that waged war and therefore deserves to be denied,and even absurd claims such as that it colonized the Korean Peninsula.After Oe,those who desperately want a Nobel Prize,or who belong to Japan’s absurd and kindergarten-level media,among whom there are hardly any who read Joyce Carol Oates,are in a similar position.Not only would it not be an exaggeration to say that there are virtually none who read her,but a writer whom young people in China and South Korea,raised under anti-Japanese education of Nazism and fascism,read as a kind of backlash,said that Japan must continue apologizing to South Korea forever.If Park Geun-hye at her peak had heard this,she might have shed tears of joy and awarded a medal.That is the kind of person she is,and that is likely why she is read.
However,rather than needing to possess such a distorted mind,a remark by a Chinese entrepreneur,who is engaged in work spanning the world and cannot function without seeing the world as it is,was published in the Nikkei the day before yesterday.
It was a statement by the top executive of Sany Heavy Industry,now a major Chinese corporation equivalent to Komatsu in China.He said that the future of Sany Heavy Industry is bright,because there are many things that must be done to make China a beautiful country like Switzerland or Japan.
His remark also proves the correctness of my argument one hundred percent.
At the same time,it also proves the abnormality and strangeness of the media led by the Asahi,and the so-called cultural figures who echo it.
