Needless to Say, He Lived Entirely Unconnected to the Japan-as-Villain Narrative Created by GHQ.
This essay examines the distortion inherent in Kenzaburo Oe’s rejection of Yasunari Kawabata’s Nobel lecture “My Beautiful Japan,”emphasizing that Kawabata lived entirely apart from the GHQ-created narrative portraying Japan as a villain. It further exposes the abnormality of Japanese media and cultural figures who have persistently demeaned Japan, contrasting them with the realistic perspective of Chinese business leaders.
Needless to say,he was a person who lived entirely unconnected to the Japan-as-villain narrative created by GHQ.

Kenzaburo Oe,one of the representative figures among the so-called cultural elites who have aligned themselves with the Asahi Shimbun, denied “My Beautiful Japan,”the Nobel Prize acceptance speech of Yasunari Kawabata.Yet it goes without saying that Kawabata was a man who had absolutely no need to be tainted by pseudo-moralism such as Oe’s.
It also goes without saying that he lived entirely apart from the Japan-as-villain narrative created by GHQ.
He was a man who lived what could be called a harrowing life, becoming an orphan in early childhood and being raised by relatives.
He lived with a constant awareness of human solitude.
Those who grew up subscribing to and carefully reading the Asahi Shimbun, like Oe,have come to view Japan as an unbeautiful country,an ugly country,a country that waged war and therefore ought to be denied.
They went so far as to implant in the Japanese people the absurd notion that Japan had colonized the Korean Peninsula.
The truth of the thirty-five years during which Japan and Korea formed a unified state at the request of the Korean Peninsula and with Japan’s consent is as previously stated.
There are unbelievable people who rejoice in dragging down the honor and credibility, and the sentiments,of all Japanese citizens of that era who devoted more than twenty percent of the national budget each year to transforming the Korean Peninsula, then one of the poorest regions in the world, into a modern state, and among their representatives are Oe and writers today who are desperate to win a Nobel Prize.
They are unaware that Japan, which clearly perceived that the Korean Peninsula was burdened by a traditional class discrimination system dating back to antiquity—one of the worst such systems in the world at the time—and that the status of women was abysmal, thereby keeping it among the poorest regions in the world, swiftly eradicated these pernicious customs.
The Nobel Prize is sometimes even awarded to,or spoken of as a possibility for, such despicable people.
Media that do not write the truth about Japan, that speak only of their own distorted ideologies, and that it is by no means an exaggeration to say are ultimately manipulated by China and South Korea, are like kindergarten children, and among them there are hardly any who read Joyce Carol Oates.
Likewise,it would not be an exaggeration to say that virtually none read her,and a writer whom young people in China and South Korea, raised under anti-Japanese education that is Nazism and fascism itself, read as a kind of backlash—apparently making them the largest group of her readers in the world—said that Japan must continue apologizing to South Korea forever.
Had Park Geun-hye heard this at the time when she was engaged in telling-tales diplomacy, spreading slander about Japan throughout the world, she might have shed tears of joy and awarded a medal. That kind of person is likely why she is read.
However, far from needing to possess such a distorted mind,a statement by a Chinese entrepreneur engaged in work spanning the world, and who cannot function without seeing the world as it is,was published in the Nikkei the day before yesterday. It was a remark by the top executive of Sany Heavy Industry, now a major Chinese corporation equivalent to Komatsu in China. He said that the future of Sany Heavy Industry is bright, because in order to make China a beautiful country like Switzerland or Japan, there are still many things China must do.
His remark proves the correctness of my argument one hundred percent.
At the same time,it also proves the abnormality and strangeness of the media led by the Asahi, and of the so-called cultural figures who have continued to demean Japan.
