Whether Trump succeeds depends on whether he can skillfully combine slogans two, three, and four and thereby realize the first objective.
If Trump loses the 2018 midterm elections, he will politically become a lame duck.
That is why he is now desperate to produce results.
The economy is in excellent shape, and employment is growing.
However, if some form of resolution to the North Korea issue cannot be achieved by the midterm elections, people will ask, “Is this still ‘Make America Great Again’?” and the situation will become difficult.
Conversely, it may be that Trump has decided to accomplish something by any means before the midterm elections.
For that reason as well, I believe tensions surrounding North Korea are increasing.
