The following is a continuation of the previous chapter.
Above all, within this order we must protect the security and prosperity of liberal nations.
We must create an environment in which liberal countries can naturally increase without coercion.
For that purpose, the liberal nations must cooperate firmly with one another.
At the center of that cooperation lies the issue of maritime security.
Looking at a globe, the Earth consists of many islands of various sizes and one connected ocean.
The oceans cover 70% of the Earth’s surface, and 90% of global trade is conducted through them.
Control of the seas, and their peace and safety, form the very foundation of the survival of liberal nations.
At present, about thirty navies, centered on the United States Navy, cooperate to maintain that security, but if any force challenges this order, it must be firmly repelled.
