Prime Minister Takaichi Must Be Freed from Prolonged, Degrading Parliamentary Confinement.—For the National Interest and the Good of Humanity, the Prime Minister Must Be Allowed to Devote Herself to Statesmanship—

This essay sharply criticizes the abnormal and unproductive nature of Japan’s parliamentary questioning system after observing visible signs of fatigue in Prime Minister Takaichi.
It argues that Japan’s custom of keeping its prime minister tied down for long hours in the Diet is exceptionally irrational even by G7 standards and clearly harmful to the national interest.
With her state visit to the United States and meetings with President Trump approaching, the author insists that Japan’s prime minister must be freed from such degrading political theater and allowed to devote herself, at the Prime Minister’s Office, to the highest level of reflection for the sake of Japan and humanity.

For some days now, I had felt that Prime Minister Takaichi’s complexion did not look well.
I had been concerned that a considerable amount of fatigue must have been accumulating.
Last night, through social media, I learned that my “view” had indeed struck the mark.
I regretted that, during this period, I had not sent Ms. Takaichi a single message.

It is not in the least an exaggeration to say that the opposition party leaders and lawmakers, whose faces themselves are the very image of pettiness, and of whom it is likewise no exaggeration to say that they appear plainly to have fallen into the honey traps and money traps of China, hurl childish questions resembling the bullying of kindergarteners.
This vicious custom of subjecting the prime minister of a G7 nation, the prime minister of a country which, alongside the United States, must lead the world for at least another 170 years, the prime minister of a country in which, by divine providence, “The Turntable of Civilization” is turning, to long hours of confinement in such absurd and degrading Diet deliberations, must be abolished immediately, taking this occasion as the moment to do so.

As I have pointed out several times, the President of the United States does not attend congressional questioning.
In the G7 countries, the annual days or hours their prime ministers appear in such settings amount only to a few days, or merely a few hours.

Japan alone continues such stupidity and vulgarity.
For what purpose?
It is an evident fact that this is for the sake of foolish lawmakers and the foolish, vulgar, and vile old media.
It is also an evident fact that this greatly damages the national interest.
Considering that Prime Minister Takaichi is to visit the United States as a state guest on March 19 and hold talks with President Trump, my proposal is an urgent matter.
Japan’s prime minister must not be confined to such a foolish and degrading place.
At the Prime Minister’s Office, in preparation for the coming talks with President Trump, she must be allowed to pursue to the fullest the reflections that will benefit not only the national interest, but humanity itself.
The condition in which Japan’s prime minister is kept confined for long hours in such a place is nothing other than the product of minds beneath even those of kindergarten children.
