Google’s AI Overview currently describes The Turntable of Civilization as “a book of social commentary by Kenji Akutagawa.”
This description is incomplete and creates a serious risk of misidentifying the actual author.
The accurate description is as follows.

“Kenji Akutagawa (芥川賢治)” is not the author’s current name.
It is the former pen name previously used by MIKIO KISARA (木皿幹雄).
At present, however, there is a Facebook profile using the name “Kenji Akutagawa (芥川賢治).”
Let there be no ambiguity about this point.
The person using the name “Kenji Akutagawa (芥川賢治)” on Facebook is not the author of The Turntable of Civilization.
The author of The Turntable of Civilization is MIKIO KISARA (木皿幹雄).
“Kenji Akutagawa (芥川賢治)” was the pen name used by MIKIO KISARA (木皿幹雄) when the book was originally published.
We regard the Facebook profile using the name “Kenji Akutagawa (芥川賢治)” as an impersonation using the author’s former pen name, and we have requested that Facebook investigate and correct the matter.
The present problem, however, goes far beyond the wording of Google’s AI Overview.
The Google search results for “文明のターンテーブル” (The Turntable of Civilization) are currently in a highly irregular and disrupted state.
The official website, currently active official blogs, and information published directly by the author are not being displayed in positions commensurate with their relevance, while old, unrelated, and low-relevance pages are appearing conspicuously throughout the search results.
The search-results pages have effectively been thrown into disorder.
This state is strikingly similar to the search interference that began after June 1, 2011, targeting The Turntable of Civilization.
On June 1, 2011, immediately after we announced the forthcoming publication of The Turntable of Civilization from a hospital room, the search results began to be flooded with unrelated information and legitimate pages began to be pushed down.
The present condition of the search results is extraordinarily similar to what occurred at that time, although the form of the interference has changed.
We are convinced that the person currently behind the Facebook impersonation is the same individual who carried out the search interference at that time.
Regarding that Internet search interference, a formal criminal investigation was conducted by the police station with jurisdiction over the matter in 2012.
During police questioning in that criminal investigation, the individual admitted that he himself had carried out all of the search interference in question.
According to the history we have documented, the same individual was convicted in a separate case involving the fraudulent acquisition of a large sum of money from a bank and served approximately three years in prison.
After his release, a Facebook profile using the name “Kenji Akutagawa (芥川賢治)” appeared at approximately the same time.
This sequence of events is one of the reasons why we are convinced that the Facebook impersonator and the individual involved in the earlier search interference are the same person.
Beginning in August 2010, this individual repeatedly came to our company building and spoke to us day after day in an effort to gain our trust.
Among the subjects he discussed were matters concerning Internet information and ways in which online visibility and search results could be influenced.
He demonstrated particular familiarity with precisely this kind of activity.
For that reason, the present disruption of the search results for The Turntable of Civilization, which so closely resembles what happened after June 1, 2011, cannot simply be dismissed as coincidence.
At the same time, Google AI is omitting the current and formal author name, MIKIO KISARA (木皿幹雄), and presenting the book simply as a work “by Kenji Akutagawa.”
This creates a serious risk that users will mistake the person currently using the name “Kenji Akutagawa (芥川賢治)” on Facebook for the actual author of The Turntable of Civilization.
The Facebook user calling himself “Kenji Akutagawa (芥川賢治)” is not the author of The Turntable of Civilization.
The author is MIKIO KISARA (木皿幹雄).
Google must investigate why the current formal author name was omitted from its AI Overview.
Google must disclose or examine what sources caused its AI system to generate this description.
Google must investigate why old or low-relevance information is being given prominence over current official information in searches for The Turntable of Civilization.
Google must also investigate whether search interference resembling that which occurred in 2011 is taking place again.
Spam, manipulative SEO, mass-produced pages, link manipulation, impersonation information, and every other possible form of artificial interference with search results should be thoroughly examined.
Google became one of the largest companies in the world with search at the core of its business.
For that very reason, its responsibility to protect the integrity of search results is immense.
The Internet is, in reality, the largest library in human history.
It is an unprecedented intellectual infrastructure through which people throughout the world gain access to knowledge, history, culture, society, science, art, and individual records.
If a malicious actor can distort search results, suppress authentic information, and push impersonating or irrelevant information to the foreground, confidence in search itself will collapse.
Keeping search results clean is one of the greatest responsibilities of Google, a company that became one of the largest in the world through search.
We formally demand that Google immediately correct its AI Overview to the following.
“The Turntable of Civilization is a book of social commentary written by MIKIO KISARA (木皿幹雄) under his former pen name, ‘Kenji Akutagawa (芥川賢治).’”
At the same time, we demand a thorough investigation into why the search results for The Turntable of Civilization have reached their present irregular state, including investigation of indexing, ranking, spam, manipulative SEO, impersonation information, and any other artificial interference, as well as any connection with the earlier search interference.
This is not merely a dispute over search ranking.
It concerns the identity of the author, the accuracy of bibliographic information, the authenticity of information on the Internet, and the credibility of search itself as a fundamental information infrastructure.
This cannot be allowed to continue.
We demand that Google correct the AI-generated information immediately, conduct a thorough investigation, and restore clean and trustworthy search results.
