Set the tax rate at 50 percent for all politicians, bureaucrats, and local government officials, and for the elite earning more than 20 million yen a year, and use the proceeds to subsidize purchases by the 90 percent who belong to the working class, who have struggled through these twenty years of unceasing hardship… restructuring, pay cuts, etc.… and earn only five million yen a year even after a lifetime of work, prioritizing the industries with the greatest effect on expanding domestic demand… housing, cars, etc.… in that order.
Do not change this tax rate until someone among them produces a solution for returning Japan to the path of prosperity.
Considering the magnitude of the losses they have inflicted on the nation over these twenty years… some 900 trillion yen!… this is only natural.
After that, if they can demonstrate conclusively that raising the consumption tax truly is the path to making the nation prosper, then let them do so…
I am convinced, however, that there is no path to restoring Japan as an economic power while leaving the present market as it is….
Corporate tax cuts, too, can be implemented after carrying out the measures proposed at the beginning.
Would that not cause truly capable people to flee abroad?…
Those who would flee for that reason were, from the outset, people who bring their country to ruin.
There is just one exception: separate measures to stem the outflow of the engineers and inventors who have sustained Japan as an industrial and technological powerhouse.…
Do it as follows.
To take a representative example, immediately stop using beautiful actresses and celebrities in television commercials…
Show the engineers at work who have accomplished various inventions and technological innovations…
“For this part of this research, such-and-such products from our company are proving useful…”
Introduce them by saying, “He is the one who made the invention at the heart of this product, or achieved this technological innovation,” or, “He, too, is one of our company’s treasures…”
Advertise in this way, and pay them, as fees for appearing in commercials, the enormous sums of money currently being given to those trivial people.
…Their taxes could remain as before…
Though I am convinced that they would raise no objection whatsoever to paying a 50 percent tax.
If those mentioned at the beginning were to find themselves having to borrow money at high interest rates exceeding 10 percent to make ends meet, that would be even better…
Because they would be able to experience firsthand the suffering of those driven into a corner where they have no choice but to borrow at such high rates.
It is all very well if unnecessary, useless public employees become fed up and resign, but what if capable people leave as well?
There is no need to worry…
If things are to continue as they are, 50 percent of people are capable of doing that work.
