The Mizuhara Scandal and Media Responsibility — A Draft Questioning the Coverage of Shohei Ohtani

2024/03/25

A rough draft concerning the sudden news about interpreter Mizuhara.
This column has repeatedly discussed South Korea’s terrible anti-Japanese education, namely Nazism, which was initiated by the dictator Syngman Rhee and continues to this day.
It is only natural that people raised with this anti-Japanese education would become Nazis.
Unlike Japan, which had a foolish constitution imposed on it by GHQ, South Korea’s constitution does not state that the country will not maintain armed forces.
Therefore, there was no obstacle to South Korea entering the Vietnam War on behalf of its military ally, the United States.
In return, more than 300,000 Koreans were granted immigration quotas to the United States.
Consequently, there are far more Koreans than Japanese people in the United States.
There are quite a few Korean Americans in the Democratic Party.
There are also many Koreans in California.
That is why the Dodgers–Padres season opener was held in South Korea.
I had been concerned that anti-Japanese Koreans, particularly those in California, might take some action against Ohtani.
When this incident occurred, I thought, “Just as I suspected.”
What kind of person was the illegal bookmaker who approached interpreter Mizuhara in 2021?
I suspect that the person was a Korean American or a Korean living in the United States.
If the media are a group of journalists, they should investigate that first.
However, the other night, I happened to watch an evening news program on TV Asahi hosted by Okoshi.
It presented the story as though Ohtani, too, were under suspicion.
They should have reported who approached interpreter Mizuhara and what kind of person that individual was.
That alone was a major success for anti-Japanese Koreans who wanted to tarnish Ohtani’s immense popularity and the admiration he enjoys.
It is no exaggeration to say that the news departments of Japanese television stations are controlled by Koreans living in Japan.
Various people have reported this.
Clearly, Koreans in the United States are not entirely pleased with Ohtani’s success.
Last year, Ichiro began facing attacks within the team that fostered discord, and he moved to the Yankees.
It is clear that anti-Japanese Koreans were stirring up animosity toward Ichiro on social media at that time.
