“Without Correcting This, Peace or Friendship Is Impossible” — Why Japan Must Confront South Korea and Recognize Its Own Cultural Strength
This essay argues that Japan’s cultural and social standards surpass those of other nations, as illustrated by a Newsweek feature praising Japanese-style hospitality through the lens of New York’s Starbucks experience. The author insists that Japan must immediately file a complaint against South Korea at the United Nations, stating that anti-Japanese education and cultural suppression constitute intolerable “fascistic practices” incompatible with genuine peace or friendship. While China’s authoritarianism requires a long-term, cautious global approach, South Korea—claiming to be a democracy—must be held accountable. The article also criticizes Japan’s cultural elites for perpetuating deceptive moralism and failing to defend national interests.
Why?
Because unless that point is corrected, peace or friendship can never exist.
In this respect as well, Japan is number one in the world—as the facts clearly show.

The parts I emphasized in bold in the previous chapter show, clearly, that Japan is number one in the world in this respect.
From the August 8 issue of Newsweek, in Jonathan Knee’s feature article titled “Starbucks and New York’s Sad Love Affair.”

Excerpt:
Boldface in the text is mine.
“Over several years after its first opening, Starbucks won over even skeptical New Yorkers like me.
The plush couches that soothe the stresses of urban life, the restrooms that are miraculously clean and comfortable for this city, and the refills of coffee offered at astonishingly low prices—Starbucks prepared countless such gifts full of affection.
On top of that, the staff are kind, knowledgeable, and patient, remembering our names and coffee preferences.
With such hospitality—a level unheard of at other fast-food establishments—even cynical New Yorkers forgot they were being charmed by a giant global corporation.”
…End of excerpt.
That is why, Japan, you must immediately bring a case against South Korea at the United Nations.
That is the most urgent matter that must be done now.
China?
China is a fascist state ruled by the Communist Party’s one-party dictatorship.
All we can do is watch it together with the world and try to guide it toward a soft landing.
There are aspects of China’s future that no one can predict.
South Korea is different.
South Korea claims to be a democratic nation.
Therefore, we can no longer tolerate fascistic practices such as anti-Japanese education and the suppression of Japanese culture.
Why?
Because unless that point is corrected, peace or friendship can never exist.
I say it again: in this respect, I fail every single one of Japan’s so-called professional cultural figures.
The sin of the “phony moralism” you have created is truly profound.
