4 Minutes and 10 Seconds of Autumn at Nison-in — In Resonance with Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole (II)

November 21, 2025.
At Nison-in, the autumn light revealed a lyrical beauty
that seemed to breathe in harmony with the quiet of the temple grounds.
The gentle glow along the maple-lined path,
the delicate overlap of gold and crimson,
and the pristine stillness in the air
made today’s visit a singular moment in my photographic journey.

The work that resonated most deeply with this scene was
Perlman’s performance of Lalo’s
Symphonie Espagnole, Second Movement,
conducted by Daniel Barenboim with the Orchestre de Paris.

Though brief, the movement holds warmth, melancholy, elegance,
and a quiet rise of emotion—
qualities reflected profoundly in today’s autumn colors.

Both the photo sequence and the music share the precise duration of 4 minutes and 10 seconds,
a convergence that feels less like chance and more like necessity—
a moment of beauty meant to be shared.
