Faces Shaped by a Life Lived for Japan’s National Interest
The former commanders who appeared on BS Fuji’s Prime News embodied the dignity and clarity of those who have devoted their lives to protecting Japan.
Their expressions reflected work entirely detached from personal desire or profit, rooted solely in the national interest and the safety of the Japanese people.

At the same time, another thought came to mind.
The faces of the three men, who had spent their lives in severe duties that allow not even a moment of negligence or error—duties that mean protecting Japan every single day—stood in complete contrast to the distorted expressions of those who had appeared earlier on TBS’s News Feature, individuals who were, without doubt, former leftists.
All three carried the refreshing presence of people who had fulfilled a single, unforgiving mission throughout their lives.
Their work had nothing to do with personal desire or the pursuit of profit.
It was work performed at the risk of their lives for the national interest of Japan and for the Japanese people—that is, work carried out solely for the sake of others.
There was even something noble in the atmosphere that surrounded them.
