Ichiro Furutachi’s Words Exposed Him: A Prototype Raised by Asahi Shimbun
Commenting on the Tokyo Stock Exchange crash, TV anchor Ichiro Furutachi revealed himself as a textbook product of Asahi Shimbun thinking. This essay argues that Asahi Shimbun itself engineered Japan’s “lost decades” and catalogs the paper’s long record of fabricated narratives, questioning the legitimacy of both the broadcaster and the newspaper.

I believe it was last night that Furutachi, the host of “Hōdō Station,” spoke about the recent massive plunge of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, using phrases such as “a government-engineered market…”
How childish and intellectually shallow a man Furutachi truly is.
By those very words, he exposed himself as a textbook example of someone who was raised on Asahi Shimbun.
With a mind that does not even know that Asahi Shimbun itself created Japan’s lost twenty years, he dares to talk about the economy.
As I have already noted, if one were to name a single main culprit within Asahi Shimbun, it would be Atsushi Yamada, who was in the economic department at the time.
For Furutachi’s sake, I will teach him the truth using the style of rhetoric he seems to prefer.
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured “hundred-man killing” reports.
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured Nanjing Massacre reports.
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured execution of 30 trillion yen in ODA to China.
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured Imperial Japanese Army poison gas operations (which were nothing more than smoke screens).
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured coral reef damage incident.
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured “comfort women” issue.
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured forced conscription.
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured apologies by Prime Minister Miyazawa.
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured Kōno Statement.
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured Murayama Statement.
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured reporting by Yayori Matsui.
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured reporting by Katsuichi Honda.
Asahi Shimbun–manufactured false reporting scandal by reporter Masakazu Honda (the NHK program editing issue), etc.
That alone should be more than sufficient.
You deserve an immediate suspension of broadcasting, and Asahi Shimbun deserves immediate abolition.
