“I Refuse to Be in the Same Business as Media That Use This to Topple a Cabinet”

A continuation of a dialogue criticizing how the Moritomo issue was exploited by opposition parties and media outlets to destabilize the Abe administration. It condemns the use of Akie Abe and the Imperial Rescript on Education as political tools, calling such reporting morally degraded, opportunistic, and professionally disgraceful.

I do not want to believe that I am doing the same job as media outlets that would use something like this to bring down a cabinet.
It is vulgar and lacking in dignity.

The following is a continuation of the previous chapter.
“Conservatism Is Profitable”
Yamaguchi:
This time, the opposition also pursued the issue of the Imperial Rescript on Education.
Mr. Makoto Kimura accused them, saying, “We cannot allow the creation of a far-right school.”
Takayama:
Because Mrs. Akie Abe was involved, they thought that, depending on how they used it, they could shake the Abe administration, so they attacked through the back door called Akie.
Yamaguchi:
And since it was a school practicing pseudo-conservative education, it was convenient.
Leaving aside Mr. Ryuchi, I am deeply ashamed, as someone in the same media profession, of media outlets that jumped on this bandwagon.
We would say, “This is bad form,” wouldn’t we?
The Kinki Local Finance Bureau may simply have managed to sell off land with a complicated history to a questionable buyer.
But because it was something that existed within the complex local culture unique to Kansai, and could not be easily explained publicly, they took advantage of that and made a huge uproar.
Isn’t that like a hold-up robbery?
I do not want to believe that I am doing the same work as media that would use such things to topple a cabinet.
It is vulgar and lacking in dignity.
Do they have any pride?
If they want to bring down a cabinet, I want to tell them to do it openly and properly.
