In his later years, my father was compiling the history of Yuriage.
For that reason, I found myself wondering whether Mr. Ōwaki might have been one of my father’s disciples, or perhaps someone who had researched the area together with him.
There were people who, through quiet and steady scholarship, sought to pass on the memory of the hometown to the future.
To the people of Yuriage, my eternally beloved home, and to people all over the world, I dedicate this song.
