It is no exaggeration to say that The Walkmen were the first band to knock on the door of the twenty-first century.
It seems entirely natural that they recorded a remake of Harry Nilsson’s album produced by John Lennon.
That is because I loved this album so much.
Harry Nilsson and John Lennon had known each other for only a few years, yet while making this album, they drank to excess and spent their days in complete chaos.
I think that, too, was entirely natural.
Those who are first-rate recognize what is first-rate, just as one genius recognizes another.
