Radical organizations in the United States, including ANTIFA, were creating disturbances.
They were working hard to obstruct Trump’s reelection.
Fujii: Their true nature has already become clear.
Alongside ANTIFA, “Black Lives Matter (BLM)” also attracted attention during the recent demonstrations.
One of its co-founders, Ms. Patrisse Cullors, explicitly stated, “We are trained Marxists,” and also said, “Our goal is to get President Trump out of office.”
Furuta: In other words, the main objective is not an anti-racism movement but an anti-Trump movement and a violent revolutionary movement.
Fujii: More specifically, BLM is focusing on the police, seeking reductions in police budgets and aiming to create a turbulent social situation in which violence becomes widespread.
Compared with ANTIFA, it is a loosely connected organization, but its essence is the same.
Furuta: Similar organizations existed during the 1960s and 1970s, didn’t they?
Fujii: Yes, organizations such as the Black Panthers and the Weathermen, and they embraced Mao Zedong Thought.
ANTIFA and BLM follow a similar current, so there is a possibility that they are receiving funding from China.
