“The Turntable of Civilization” Displayed as “34th in the World” — Thoughts Sparked by FC2’s Unexpected Figures
2010-10-25
About FC2… its founder is an American company, and its president is American… I thought the following… though I do not know whether I am right.
There were things I found difficult to understand about this site’s visitor and access counts, but when I searched for sites because I wanted as many people as possible to read my work and found goo…
I learned of a site that measures a website’s power, and that a score above 2 means that the site has considerable influence… I immediately pasted in the URLs of my blogs on Ameba and goo and checked, but neither reached 2.
On FC2, however, the score easily exceeded 2, reaching 2.7.
What is more, it said that my “The Turntable of Civilization” ranked 34th in the world… even though FC2 had the lowest numbers.
What follows is entirely speculation… I had felt that my “The Turntable of Civilization” was being read somewhere in the world, so when I heard what he said, I thought, just as I suspected.
As many of you may know… it is said that almost all communications within Japan are decoded by radar at U.S. military bases… which is why senior government officials never discuss confidential matters on mobile phones…
Yet, during the Futenma issue, someone connected with the government was talking on a mobile phone, so the United States knew everything Japan was thinking, and so on.
Blogs must be just what they could wish for when it comes to finding out what the people of a country are thinking.
Understanding Japanese must be as easy as farting for them.
Well, please take this as an amusing story… when Japan was overtaken by China in GDP a little while ago, the comment in The Wall Street Journal that day… unless they had read my “The Turntable of Civilization”… that is not an expression one would ordinarily use, I thought.
Please read it in the chapter I wrote about that article a little while ago.
In the September 8 issue of Newsweek, which I introduced this time… pointing out that “No country has ever achieved global hegemony through economic influence alone” is Charles Onyango-Obbo, a Ugandan journalist who contributes to publications including the Kenyan weekly The EastAfrican.
When I read this passage, too, I felt that my writing was undoubtedly being read somewhere (laughs)…
Well, please take it as a kind of amusing story.
That is what being 34th in the world means, I thought (laughs).
