May all lives have joy and light, if only for this very moment—at that moment, I pray.

Please, look.
For example, everyone must think that seeing that garden once is enough…
And so they fail to see Ryōan-ji for what it is.
They find themselves going to Ryōan-ji less and less…
Going to see that garden seems such a dreary business, they think… I was the same…
Perhaps what suddenly made me decide to go that morning was meant to make me realize that mistake…
Everything is light.
That is what I mean.
I had not wanted to say it here, but Ryōan-ji is a world of sensuality.
It is just like my photographs…
If countless people were to come to orgasm looking at my photographs, that would be the fulfillment of my deepest wish.
For life is sensuality, and death is the loss of sensuality.
Everything is light.
Giovanni and I think so.
We are people who journey through the light and darkness of the world… people who know everything.
My photographs are a feast of sensuality = a feast of life.
lives of pain lives of sorrow lives of joy foolish lives ugly lives idiotic lives
stupid lives hopeless lives lives devoted solely to finding money infuriating lives
lives tormented by the need to find money lives sustained by finding money lives smug about that alone
may all lives if only for this very moment have joy and light at that moment I pray.
