In Japan, There Were Countless Great Men Who Transformed Nature into a World of Sensuality

2010-12-7
Kenzaburo Oe wrote that Shuichi Kato had said it was not that the Japanese were kind to nature, but that nature in Japan was kind to the Japanese…
But this is what I think…Asia, which was poor…nature…nature as life laid bare.
In Japan, there were countless great men who transformed it into a world of sensuality…they were truly great…
The other morning, I, too, arrived at this…
Ah, how I long to enter, even this very moment, a life of writing forever.
I would not say that everything in these twenty years was wasted, but they were a great loss.
Yet I am confident that I will make up for that loss without fail…
I am convinced that the same is true of Japan…
Why?
What Japan has lacked these twenty years…
That is what caused everything to go wrong…
Everything indecent…
Because I have already made it clear.
As for fleshing it out to completion, either a generous benefactor will enable me to publish the book in the form I wish, or…
In this age when books do not sell, if that is impossible for someone unknown like me…I, who am by no means particularly good with computers,
will publish it myself as an unprecedented twenty-first-century book…
Though this is beyond my PC skills.
