The Only Realistic Way to Stop Global Warming――Build Nuclear Power Plants in India and Indonesia

Published on November 9, 2019. Reflecting on Japan’s shutdown of nuclear power after the Fukushima Daiichi accident, the resulting increase in fossil fuel imports, air pollution and PM2.5 from China, and severe pollution in India and Indonesia, this essay argues that the only realistic measure against global warming is to mobilize the nuclear power technologies of Japan and the advanced Western nations and build nuclear power plants in India and Indonesia under international management.

November 9, 2019.
If humanity must take measures immediately now… then the nuclear power technologies of the advanced Western countries and Japan must be brought together, and nuclear power plants must be built in India and Indonesia.
Long ago, in the summer Koshien tournament, teams from Tohoku and Hokkaido could not win the championship with a probability close to 100%.
They were defeated from the start by the heat of Koshien.
The heat of Osaka was abnormal for people raised in cold regions.
I still remember the first time I set foot in Kyoto, coming from Miyagi Prefecture.
I was surprised by the heat in the 36-degree range and thought, “It is the same as body temperature.”
At the time of the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011, Japan was, on top of everything else, unfortunate enough to be under the worst Democratic Party administration.
Naoto Kan, who was prime minister, Masayoshi Son, Mizuho Fukushima, and others conspired to stop all nuclear power generation, which had supplied about half of Japan’s electricity.
At that time, Japan was a great nuclear power nation comparable to the United States.
Readers know that I have severely criticized their decision.
Readers also know that I was the first in Japan to criticize Naoto Kan as the man who brought the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant to the point of hydrogen explosions.
If it is too extreme to say that being vultures is their essence…。
Japan’s complete shutdown of nuclear power plants, which had supplied an enormous amount of electricity, created overwhelming demand for fossil fuels.
In other words, enormous profits could be drawn out of Japan.
For that reason, international capital added a Japan premium when exporting fossil fuels to Japan.
How enormous that amount was…。
In just a few years, Japan spent 15 trillion yen on importing fossil fuels.
No matter how excellent Japan’s thermal power generation technology may be…。
If Japan was warming, I thought that this was probably one of the causes.
But,
everything was China.
A country with a population of 1.3 billion had continued economic growth of more than 10% for the past several decades.
What kind of country China is, I have mentioned many times.
It is a well-known fact that China’s air pollution has been tremendous over these decades.
Quite some time ago, accusations were frequently reported in the media that state-owned oil companies in China were selling poor-quality gasoline.
Its thermal power generation facilities were also not ultra-high-performance ones like Japan’s, so the exhaust gas was terrible.
From my house, I can command a view of Osaka.
One day several years ago, I noticed that the air was hazy.
At once, I thought it was the return of photochemical smog from forty years earlier.
When I searched the internet, a PM2.5 distribution map appeared.
It exceeded the health standard value.
But what surprised me even more was the situation in China.
The figures were already such that it could no longer be called an environment in which human beings could live.
Every year, yellow dust filled with dangerous substances attacks Japan from China.
Most of the PM2.5 that attacked Japan was probably something that came from China.
Strangely, although the sky was so hazy day after day, the Japanese media did not report it at all.
At that time, the newspaper I subscribed to was the Asahi Shimbun, so this was all the more true.
I wrote and published about this air pollution situation.
Several years later, I again searched for “PM2.5 summary.”
To my surprise, the distribution map of China could no longer be seen.
The operations China conducts against the Japanese media so that things inconvenient to its own country will not be written are tremendous.
I am from Miyagi Prefecture, but I am the type who is weak against cold and fine with heat.
Even I was truly astonished by last summer.
It was not merely heat that went beyond body temperature.
It was because, even though it was summer, the sky over Osaka was frequently hazy.
It was being attacked by PM2.5.
It was to the point that I thought it was no longer possible to stay in Osaka in summer, and that from the following year I would have no choice but to live in Hawaii during the summer.
Osaka was hot this summer as well.
Especially the day when it reached 38 degrees was tremendous.
But unlike last year, I did not think that it was impossible to live here.
The reason was that, this summer, the sky over Osaka was clear day after day.
I noticed it immediately.
China’s latest nuclear power plants――the French type and the Japanese-American type――all began operating and supplying electricity in the first half of this year.
The proportion of nuclear power in China’s total electricity generation increased at once by several tens of percent.
In other words, the proportion of coal-fired power plants with poor performance fell substantially.
In addition, there was one more thing: not only had automobile exhaust regulations become stricter, but hybrid cars and electric vehicles had also increased.
The air pollution situation in Beijing, which was barely shown on the PM2.5 distribution map, had become one-fifth of what it was one year earlier.
If global warming truly lies in air pollution, meaning the emission of carbon dioxide, then probably no one would object to saying that the original root cause is China.
Since China could no longer be seen, I noticed that, besides India, there was another region shown in deep red for air pollution.
It was Indonesia…。
Indonesia is one of the world’s major population powers and is a developing country.
At such a time, the world’s media suddenly began praising a sixteen-year-old Swedish girl.
I was astonished by the fact that the “pseudo-moralism” covering the media is common throughout the world, and by their ugliness.
I had intended to write and publish immediately, but the villain in question finally began attacks to lower the number of visitors to my “The Turntable of Civilization,” which I publish on Ameba and goo, and to prevent its URLs from appearing in Google searches…。
It seems to be called a reverse SEO attack.
Even I became fed up, and I lost the energy to write about this matter.
I lost several months in conveying an important solution to the world.
Today, I have finally recovered the will to write, and I am writing.
It goes without saying that the first person I would like to teach is the Swedish high school girl named Greta.
If global warming lies in air pollution, meaning the increase of carbon dioxide,
and, dear Greta, “the sound of the name Greta reminds Japanese people of the word gureru, meaning to go astray(笑),” if humanity must take measures immediately now,
then the United Nations must immediately bring together the nuclear power technologies of the advanced Western countries and Japan, and build nuclear power plants in India and Indonesia.
China and Russia, whose owners possess ancient brains that can only think of aiding other countries as a means of placing them under their own control, cannot be allowed to participate in any sense whatsoever.
This is a truth that needs no argument for the advanced nations founded on freedom and intelligence, other than China and Russia and the countries manipulated by them.
The operation must also be conducted by an international organization.
A system must be built as soon as possible in which the majority of electricity generation in India and Indonesia is supplied by nuclear power.
At the same time, a system must also be created in these two countries in which no vehicles other than hybrid cars or electric vehicles can run.
Funds must be contributed by countries throughout the world that agree with stopping global warming,
and “The Turntable of Civilization” tells Greta, who is in reality a very foolish girl, and the world for the first time that carrying this out immediately is the only means of stopping global warming.
This article continues.
