China Is the True Giant Emitter of Global Warming Gases—The Truth Ignored by the UN, COP25, Greta, the Asahi Shimbun, and NHK
Published on January 11, 2020.
This essay argues that the sharp decline in China’s air pollution levels, or global warming gas emissions, compared with the period before 2018 was not caused by solar power or other renewable energy, but by the start of advanced nuclear power plants in early 2019 and the closure of poor-quality coal-fired power plants.
It maintains that China still remains the world’s overwhelming coal-fired power giant, and criticizes the UN, COP25, Greta Thunberg, the Asahi Shimbun, and NHK for avoiding criticism of China while targeting Japan instead.

Even in this state, China’s air pollution levels, that is, its global warming gas emissions, have sharply fallen to one-fifth of what they were during the more than twenty years up to 2018.
The following is the air pollution map as of 9 a.m. now, which is also a map of countries emitting global warming gases.
Even in this state, China’s air pollution levels, that is, its global warming gas emissions, have sharply fallen to one-fifth of what they were during the more than twenty years up to 2018.
The reason is absolutely not that renewable energy such as solar power has increased.
In the first half of 2019, the latest French-type and Japanese-American-type nuclear power plants were completed and began operation, and as a result, the share of nuclear power in total electricity generation rose to several tens of percent.
It was because the closure of poor-quality coal-fired power plants advanced.
However, China is still an overwhelming major emitter of global warming gases, possessing more than 1,200 coal-fired power plants, many of which have poor-quality facilities.
The United States, in second place, has more than 200.
The United Nations, COP25, and Greta Thunberg all seem not to know that the equipment at China’s coal-fired power plants is inadequate.
The equipment level of China’s thermal power plants cannot possibly be compared with Japan’s ultra-high-performance coal-fired power plants equipped with ultra-high-performance Japanese exhaust gas purification systems.
China has not invested money in these overwhelmingly largest-in-the-world number of coal-fired power plants in order to drastically reduce carbon dioxide emissions, as Japan has done.
However, it has continued to invest enormous amounts of money in military expansion, including nuclear weapons, for its attempt to seize global hegemony through an evil ideology.
This is not something that began yesterday or today.
It has been this way for more than twenty years.
It has been more than twenty years since the United Nations and COP25 continued to overlook the reality of China.
Even now, the United Nations, COP25, Greta Thunberg and others, for some reason, do not utter a single word of criticism against China.
The same is true of Japan’s Asahi Shimbun and NHK.
And yet, they say things such as “the Earth is in crisis” and “humanity is in crisis,” and in the end they even say that “Japan is the culprit.”
