In the end, these evil people, presumably regarding the Internet—a world that should have been a parallel presentation of intellect—as an ideal source of profit, flourished by taking advantage of anonymity. Perhaps because of the prolonged recession, people seeking easy ways to make money began to follow them, forming a chain of money-worshipping scoundrels, while true intellect declined ever further.
It would surely be no exaggeration to say that this is what the past twenty-plus years—the past thirty-five-plus years—have been.
