Pictures That Restore the Heart—Arashiyama, Sogenchi Garden, and the Beauty of Kyoto
These pictures represent my life.
These pictures offer an answer to human life.
I wish to send them to people throughout the world.
To a world in which 20 percent of the population always carries evil in their hearts and minds, I wish to convey the importance of humankind living with innocence and decency.
Kyoto is the essence of Japan.
The gardens of Kyoto’s temples and shrines embody the beauty found throughout the regions of Japan.
They embody Japan’s seas, mountains, rivers, lakes, forests, countryside, and homes.
These are the reasons why more than 50 million people visit Kyoto.
Kyoto has a population of approximately 1.5 million.
France is now the world’s leading country in tourism, receiving more than 70 million visitors.
But if we consider the ratio of visitors to population, Kyoto is the city that receives the greatest number of visitors.
The year before, my company and I had been defrauded of one and a half million dollars by a swindler.
He was not merely a swindler; he was a criminal.
The anger and regret caused by this crime damaged my health.
I suffered a grave, life-threatening illness.
Sometimes I cannot write because of my anger.
Last night, I looked at these pictures.
They brought me calmness, and so I decided to publish them.
I hope that these pictures will help you recover from anger or regret, and especially from thoughts born of a broken heart.

This cost me more than 30,000 yen, so I decided to set the price of the book containing these pictures at 10,000 yen.
