So, after all, his column in The Japan Times was cut.
I did read it, to be fair, but it was a dull column.

Yamaguchi Jiro @260yamaguchi
I am not saying this because my own column was cut, but perhaps The Japan Times has completely changed its editorial tone since its management changed.

Japan Times sounding a lot like NHK.

SNA Japan @ShingetsuNews
Wow! Even we did not expect the new owners of the Japan Times to collapse so openly and shamefully in the face of Abe government pressure.
Please support the SNA if you want to see the spirit of real journalism survive in Japan’s English-language news media.

@7sophistication SNA, Shingetsu News Agency, run by the anti-Japanese left-wing activist Michael Penn, is laughable.
It says, “If you want a courageous English-language media outlet that reports ‘forced laborers’ as ‘forced laborers’ and ‘sex slaves’ as ‘sex slaves,’ please donate to SNA.
Help us~.”
That is nothing but naked beggar mentality.

Michael Penn was not originally a journalist.
After drifting into Japan and working as a university lecturer and so on, he founded Shingetsu News Agency.
After that, within a few years, he rose to become vice president of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan and even tried to become its president, but Shukan Shincho exposed his dubious background as a reporter, and he gave up his candidacy.

#Shame on the new owners of the Japan Times for this right-wing, revisionist, racist, anti-Korean language.

↑ A BTS fan.
Abusive language.
Tim Shorrock @TimothyS
Wow.
I’ve been privately warned by former reporters that this paper had made a radical lurch to the right, but this is unbelievable.
It is the use of language to cover up Japan’s wartime crimes.
Shocking.

Hiroko Tabuchi @HirokoTabuchi
@thecob82 @jakeadelstein If I’m understanding correctly, JT has now mandated, word for word, how its reporters must describe past events — using phrasing that more closely adheres to the current government’s revisionist views.
That’s alarming.

Speaking of NYT reporter Hiroko Tabuchi, she is notorious for having fanatically condemned Japan over the comfort women issue.
She is a Christian and participated in volunteer activities from childhood, so one may suppose that she grew up in a family environment similar to that of SEALDs’ Okuda.
