China Concealed the Danger and Hoarded Medical Supplies: A Sankei Report on a U.S. DHS Internal Document

A U.S. Department of Homeland Security internal report indicated that China knew the danger of the novel coronavirus in early January, yet delayed informing the international community while sharply increasing imports of masks, surgical gowns, gloves, and other medical supplies, and reducing exports. Based on a Sankei Shimbun article, this essay questions China’s concealment and its responsibility toward the world.

It also states that China, in order to prevent this series of actions from coming to light, officially denied restricting exports of medical supplies and delayed the release of import and export data.

There is no need to argue that, in Japan today, the most decent newspaper not under the influence of Chinese operations is the Sankei Shimbun.
In other words, it is no exaggeration to say that, when it comes to China, the Sankei Shimbun is the only newspaper reporting the facts.
My readers know well that I am the only person in the world who has continued to point out to the world that the true nature of China and the Korean Peninsula is bottomless evil and plausible lies.
The following is from today’s Sankei Shimbun.
It is an article that proves that China is a country of “bottomless evil” and “plausible lies.”
Why have so-called intellectuals, politicians, and mass media figures, not only in Japan but throughout the world, been seduced by such a mass of evil as China?
That, too, is exactly what this column has repeatedly pointed out.

Aimed at Hoarding Medical Supplies
Novel Coronavirus: U.S. Report on Chinese Concealment
Washington — Yoshinari Kurose
Major U.S. media outlets, including the Associated Press, reported on the 4th that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security had compiled an internal report stating that China, while aware of the danger of the novel coronavirus in early January, deliberately failed to inform the international community so that it could buy up large quantities of masks and other medical supplies from overseas, which were necessary to prevent the spread of infection.
President Trump said on the 3rd that U.S. intelligence agencies might release the results of their investigation into China’s responsibility for the spread of infection as early as the 4th, but it is not clear whether he was referring to this report.
Trump has expressed his intention to clarify China’s responsibility for concealing information related to the virus and spreading the infection throughout the world, and to impose “ultimate punishment,” including punitive tariffs.
The report is dated the 1st.
It pointed out that China, until around late January, concealed the danger of the novel coronavirus by failing to inform the World Health Organization, WHO, and others that it could spread from person to person, while increasing imports of medical supplies and reducing exports in order to stockpile them.
It also states that China, in order to prevent this series of actions from coming to light, officially denied restricting exports of medical supplies and delayed the release of import and export data.
According to the report, China’s imports of masks, surgical gowns, gloves, and other such items surged in January.
The decline in exports was also conspicuous, and both were said to have exceeded the bounds of common sense.
The report was not classified, but was treated as “For Official Use Only” for government officials to view in the course of their duties.
