The Folly of Celebrating Contempt: Cultural Elites Echoing Asahi Shimbun
The most foolish figures are the so-called cultural elites who align themselves with the Asahi Shimbun, enthusiastically introducing remarks by a German journalist that openly demean Japan and the Japanese people. The most foolish individuals are the so-called cultural elites who align themselves with the Asahi Shimbun and who authored this essay.
Their folly—enthusiastically introducing the words of a German who completely looks down on Japan and the Japanese people—is beyond description.
The attitude of this German journalist toward Japan is nothing other than a manifestation of ignorance and an incorrigible sense of racial discrimination against people of color, yet their failure to even recognize this fact leaves one with no other conclusion than that there is no remedy for such stupidity.
